I find it interesting that the spin stabilizing rockets are not only retained, they seem to be utilized even during INS guided drops. I don't see the rational for that. The rockets were originally to spin stabilize the unguided bomb.

The INS is probably designed to work with a spinning bomb and would need  a shiny and stunningly expensive replacement just to remove the rockets.

My point is the INS would not have needed spin stabilization and it seems odd that the feature is active when that option is enabled (unguided drops are also still an option-talk about paranoid).
