Merkava has its own oil painting. It's settled then. Top tank in the world rn.

The medium tank M4 may give the Merkava a run for its money, as a few years ago my better half commissioned an art upcycler to paint my cat named Sherman riding a Sherman.

For the love of god please no "look how big AFVs be nowadays" comments. please.

Is it OK to note the 'smaller, lighter' vehicle (a light tank, no matter what the doctrine weenies claim) is taller than the immensely heavy Abrams??

Fine. You may note. But you may not admire the fact.

Anything with engine forward will be taller than with back placement of engine, because in rear engine design hull can be made "stepped" (M1 is a prime example) and have lower height over fighting compartment.

edit - hull, not crew.

This perhaps would belong in some kind of 'jokes' thread, but...

A homemade Finnish "APC" or "Pirkka-Pasi" as its owner calls it.

In actuality it's a standard pattern garbage container on top of a Nissan pickup chassis. It's for sale in net auction, winning bid atm is 1700 euros, which I take to mean that the owner pays some hapless soul that amount to accept ownership of this monstrosity.

This is probably third-worst Finnish-made AFV, after VK and BT-42.

I guess barn/shed roof construction is the same as here, 2x4 lumber and metal sheets.
