In one of his videos firing that gun you can see the round started tumbling right out of the barrel when they slowed it down.

I remeber wondering wether that is normal or not when I watched this... Maybe the round needs some time to stabilize after leaving the barrel?

😊 No. No. That's definitely not it.

Here the driving band and bourrelet may not have been correct. Or there was no driving band at all. Am I correct in assuming that it wasn't a regular AP shell? But that it was made amateurishly.

I do believe that they make their own.  Probably not able to by factory fresh ones on the open market.

100y/o tanker, Franz Primozhich rides in tank again

Born in 1924, mobilized by Germans in 1942, deserted and joined Soviet partisans in 1943, then in summer 1944. joined 2nd Yugoslav Tank Brigade (trained and equipped by Soviets), first as a driver and later as a tank commander. Fought during breakthrough of Syrmian Front, survived with his tank two AT ambushes. Served in Yugoslav People Army until 1947. when he was demobilized.

the driving band has to be just right for the round to behave properly.  We ended up copying the original blueprints and it worked very well.  Powder has to be right at in the right quantity as well.  It's more difficult than one would think...

T-80BV named “Alyosha” that destroyed a column of eight Ukrainian armoured vehicles (including two T-64/72, one M113 and several MaxxPro), it was then featured as a war hero and all three crew were presented awards by Putin.
