Great footage of the driver and interior sound while the vehicle was in motion. I'm hoping that at 3:05 when he mentioned they were looking to sell and replace with a UH-1 because there were "...not a lot of tracks in Vietnam that were used effectively..." he was specifically speaking about the M59, or else that seems quite a controversial statement!

Yeah; I posted a comment that there should be plenty of M113 runners available at reasonable cost.

Here's an hour-long video of a guy disassembling a ballistic computer from an M48.

Update: he got it working!

The engine and also the air compressor look so Soviet? So T-34 style.

For some reason I can not watch video, only see preview pic, but that is most probably ex-Yugoslav M-36s that was retrofitted with V-55 engine in the early '70s. Majority of vehicles in good condition were retrofitted in such manner until 1979. Modernization also included IR driving lights, M68 IR periscope for a driver, HEAT ammo (with gunsight reticle scale change) and few more details.

Interview with a veteran of the French Foreign Legion:

...."To do this you have to break everybody down together, until eveyone is completely convinced that we are all (whatever colour, race, or ethnicity) equally completely useless. When we finally are all in the deepest shit together for a very long period, we learn very clearly that we are all equal humans, and that it is only together and united we might have a slight chance against the enemy."...

Sounds like humanity needing a savior against the greatest enemy there is.

Reminds me of the approach used by the US Marines.

Perhaps what does he think about the representation on media of the FFL, from the Beau Geste novels to the JC Van Damme movies.
