A nice overview of the M103's history:

Love the M103 and M51, thanks. :) I do believe at 1:30 the mock-up's rangefinder blisters are confused for MG blisters, which had been removed from the design by the time that model was made.

Actually seems a logical adaption

IIRC there was version with Cadilac Gage 1-meter turret with .50 + 40mm GL. IDR who used it, maybe Koreans?

T-10 Mine Exploder, based on a highly modified Sherman.

The enormous wheels would roll over and hopefully detonate mines below, while being tough enough to withstand the blast. Their size allowed the tank to be kept high-up off the ground, keeping it away from the blast. Smaller rollers at the rear trailed behind and cleared the gap left by the front wheels.

This design was not accepted for service.

and a command/radio tank

Right, which is why I specified about the machine gun tank. With the people standing in front of the radio tank I (at least :)) can't get a good look at the driver's position, and I'm unsure of potential differences in the superstructure between the FT TSF and M1917 signal tanks. Probably a Renault since the other one is, but 50 M1917 signal tanks were constructed as well.

Well that answers that. :) I wonder how accurate the gun tube modeling was--seemed pretty elastic?

Would there have been enough resistance to initiate the fuse?

A good general overview for the casually interested, but I believe mention of the 105mm L7 should have been included.  A quick run-through of its evolution would have been enlightening to the layperson.
