This article on Daily Mail about a panzer officer's diary has some good photos of Pzkpfw 35ts.  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9697041/Diaries-soldier-broken-horrors-Operation-Barbarossa.html

Awesome find!

Interesting conversion in this picture

From The Citadel last week.  I assume the .50 cal in the bow gun position was done due to the lack of a .30 cal to put in there.

"Victim of the museum":

- Need some MG barrel to mount there

- We have half dozen MG barrels in the basement, go and mount one"

- Done

Probably better than a piece of pipe, but not that much.

What Bojan said...from the imagery I've seen, there's no way an M2 receiver would fit into the bog's hole...well, an M85 maybe. 😛

(Please delete if this is already posted as this is rather old news)

The PINDAD HARIMAU HITAM (or Kaplan as Turkey calls it)

HARIMAU - Bahasa Indonesia for Tiger

HITAM - Black

What a gorgeous vehicle. Just when everyone is building heavy tracked tanks or lighter wheeled tanks, Turkey goes and build this beauty for Indonesia.

Solution in the search of the problem, less capable than a well modernized T-55.

More technical things:

- SISU suspension, Allison transmission, Caterpillar engine, Israeli add-on armor, supposedly same as they are using for their Eitan.

Class 5/3 front/sides naked

Class 6/4 front/sides with add-on

Class 6/5 front/sides in the future.

57mm module is one of the options for armament, others are 30mm Russian and Israeli RWS (not specified which ones).

Export.

Army has interest in following troop transport vehicles (at least had some 10 years ago):

4x4 lightly armored vehicle (done)

6x6 APC (never-ending story)

MRAP (in final development)

Tracked IFV (not going to happen anytime soon)

Some 15-16 years ago wheeled IFV lobby tried to paddle BTR-90 or Patria for "peacekeeping missions", but that went nowhere, as BTR-90 was not accepted to a Russian army and Patria was too expensive for the performances.

*There was some interest in acquiring ~80 BMP-3 in 2007. but WEC 2008. put a stop to that idea, through even w/o WEC it was questionable if it would be adopted as army was very critical about lack of the normal rear exit. Used ex-Swedish CV9040 were also considered at about same point, but again came to nothing.

Very interesting, thanks. I am surprised Arzamas did not flag up Serbia's interest when BTR-90 was cancelled. In any case, it has the same problem as BMP-3 (lack of rear exit).

Requirement for foreign vehicles is that they have to be in service.

At that moment requirements for wheeled vehicles were different from tracked ones, and no full rear exit was required.
