Mr King Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 I've always wanted to try this with MBT...sadly it is not practiced in FDF although our T-55M's, T-72M1's and Leopard 2A4&A6's would be capable of doing it... I've swam with BMP-2 but it is notthe same (although it was one of the most scariest moment of my tankers carrier so far)! I have always been fascinated by the idea of a fully submerged tank fording, and thought it would be something interesting to experience. Though I would prefer the western style snorkel over the Russian if you please. I imagine in reality the actual act of going across a river in a submerged tank would scare the crap out of me.
Panzermann Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) The usage of "wading mode" is also know stunt in FDF to cool down the crew. Most probably taught to our training cadre by German crews in Leopard familiarization training The engineers in their unending wisdom shaped the NBC filter the size of a palette of 0,33 l beverage cans and the compartment on the left hull side upper to accommodate two each so that the tanker shall be elevated above the mere infatryman and shall not suffer henceforth from warm non-refreshing bubbling beverages. Furthermore they created the smoke launcher to hold 0,5 l sized can to quench the big thirst. Edited March 25, 2014 by Panzermann
Sovngard Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 This Leopard 2A4 landed in the middle of the World War II after falling into a spatio-temporal flaw.
Panzermann Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Naaaah, thats a screen shot of a dirty dirty WoT cheater. During the development of the Leopards 1 & 2 Panther were taken out of the study collections (aka Panzermuseum and Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung) to compare especially the suspension. The rrsults were as expected.
DogDodger Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 That's a neat shot. While we're comparing, the AAF museum in Danville, VA, has their Pz.Kpfw.IV parked next to their M60A2:
Mr King Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 Great photo. That huge cupola for the commander on the Starship I imagine would of proven extremely vulnerable in combat. It just sits up there like a sore thumb saying shoot me.
Archie Pellagio Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 That's at Ahmed Shah Massoud's shrine in the panjshir valley, there's that, a BTR or two. I've got some photos from when I was there a few years back, I think a couple are on my faceyspace.
Panzermann Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Who used t-34 in AFG? Given to the afghan government as aid in the eighties???

BP Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Ahhh, the formerly Top Secret Matryoshkagavin. It caused such fear and consternation when it was introduced that it induced a crack Cuban motorized rifle battalion to surrender. . .while it was on sea trials off Virginia Beach.
