sunday Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Well, one could be accused of trolling and that one could be actually trolling.

There are folks over the last few pages who could use some intervention by Moderator, and who have a recent history of it, but JasonL isn't one of them.

Considering so much of the FFZ are folks bemoaning how wrong Republicans in office are how is there not much out there to put in this thread? They can be bad at what they do yet still do everything right in the process?

Taking the liberty to define my "buddies" for me eh? Rather presumptuous. That and the fact that you feel the need refer to "The Right" and "The Left" in terms of your own self identiy speaks volumes. Things seem to be pretty simple in your world. I am jealous.
sunday Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Re: Skywalkre First this one, bringing the closed AGW thread to scene. But you don't "believe" in Global Warming? Second this one, where he again uses the same rhetorical resource, used before in the AGW topic, of claiming not to hold certain position in a certain issue. (...) It's fairly obvious that you haven't read a single one of my posts after oh what? 10 years? if you think I'm a "big government type". Your data about illegal immigration doesn't say what you want it to, and no amount of cheap sniping is going to conceal that.
Paul G. Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Ok here's an interesting rationalization... Bobby Jindal is all for Religious freedom of speach. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/04/05/exclusive-bobby-jindal-on-religious-liberty-extreme-left-becoming-more-secular-radical-we-need-to-fight-back/ Jindal said the attacks that have been launched against Indiana’s Memories Pizza—a Christian-owned pizzeria whose owners said they wouldn’t be able to serve pizzas at a gay wedding—which forced the company to close its doors temporarily for security purposes, “shows the hypocrisy of the left yet again.”“The fact is they would be the first to tell you they are all for plurality and diversity and freedom of speech until you disagree with them,” Jindal said. except if he dont like the speach. http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/07/louisiana_gov_bobby_jindal_to.html "If they come here to Louisiana, if they try to disrupt this funeral, we're going to lock them up. We're going to arrest them," Jindal told CBS's "Face The Nation" Sunday. "They shouldn't try that in Louisiana. We won't abide by that here. Let these families grieve."

Your data about illegal immigration doesn't say what you want it to, and no amount of cheap sniping is going to conceal that. You're the only one thinking about that thread, I was thinking how hilarious it is that you can cling so desperately to a pretty flimsy correlation and yet deny something that is legitimately scientific. I mean it's a perfect fit given the thread topic really but still..... r.e. rhetorical strategies: this place has a pretty pathetic habit (or rather certain members have the habit) of pigeonholing people who disagree with them into camps: "ZOMG you don't believe with my far right rhetoric, ergo you must be a pinkco commie and believe everything that pinko commies do" "ZOMG you don't think that global warming is vast conspiracy, you must believe everything the IPCC says hook, line, and sinker." etc. There isn't a single member on this forum who posts regularly that is anything beyond a touch left of center. The circle-jerk reality distortion field just screws with perception. Edited September 15, 2015 by Jason L

I barely followed that thread so don't know the history there. I'm sympathetic towards his comment in the second one, though. There are several folks on here that after you say something they don't like simply put a label on you and clearly don't read anything you write after that. It's most amusing when you're on the same side of an issue and they still come out after you because "you're on the OTHER side!"

It's most amusing when you're on the same side of an issue and they still come out after you because "you're on the OTHER side!" There was once a thread where someone was seemingly not behind the position that he should defend, based on his posting history. I defended that one, begging for his opponents to give him an opportunity, studying every thread anew, making a rational debate bases on dialectic and not on retoric, etc. Do you know how that ended? The narrative exposed by that someone was clarified, so I was left feeling swindled, fooled... whatever, put an adjective on it. I am against pigeonholing, but there are people that had earned the "right" to be pigeonholed. Edited September 15, 2015 by sunday

There's an argument that if they do any number of things that disrupt a private event it's no longer speech. It becomes trespassing and other things. Protesting outside is speech. Rushing the doors or interfering is not peaceful protest.
Mr King Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Now Ryan, you know that when the left breaks the law, and commits wanton acts of destruction and illegal disruption to "protest" that is their civil right. but when tea party members peacefully gather, that is terrorism.
