Marek Tucan
Hydro also picks up torpedoes. Believe me, unless a DD has nerve, when he sees pissed off battleship bearing INTO smoke he launches torpedoes and scarpers. If you have high enough RoF (so cruisers), you can blindfire into smoke too. Though that works better vs. British cruisers and Trollotov which hav to go stationary (almost). TBH, if you are a battleship, best counter to smoke is killing enemy cruisers and trying to catch shels instead of friendly cruisers.
Skywalkre
Do BBs ever get any of this radar/hydro or is this how high tier cruisers are supposedly kept viable? Mid-tier cruisers, if they have these, are way too squishy to get close enough to use them.
Marek Tucan
German BBs (VIII+) got the Hydro and are arguably too comfy Radar is on some cruisers and on Missouri. Generally radar is good for longer range spotting, but hydro is good for pushing.

TonyE
Is it President Masaryk, the Yamato of the Danube?
bojan
Yamato of Danube would be one of the ex-A-H monitors, possibly Drava since it met about same end, being sunk by aircraft.
Marek Tucan
Yep, it is President Masaryk Actually had nothing to do with the creation. I guess the screne inspiration is also clear...

TonyE
First battle in the Bougainville (french tier 1 "cruiser"), teams consisted of 23 Bougainvilles and 1 Hermelin.
DB
New job means less time to do justice to WoWS, and anyway three new ships in one week means a big hit on in-game cash. Is it my mediocre performances, or has there been a slight droop in currency earned in battle recently? I know that higher tiers cost more to repair, but I'm not used to seeing much less than 100k in profit.
Harold Jones
The latest patch dropped, it includes a PVE mode called Operations. Tried one and it's not my cup of tea, at least not in a random group. Basically you fight waves of bots until you are wiped out or you fulfill the victory conditions. The rewards seem to be on the same scale as the coop mode so I ended up with 160 xp and 15k credits for a loss that took around 15 minutes (I was one of the last to die) to fight out. Not sure what the rewards are for completing one but I don't think they'll be enough to justify the amount of time you have to spend fighting one out. DB
The first ops scenario (Newport) was not easy unless the team knew what their roles were. The second one was trivially easy unless nobody picked a Cleveland or other competent AD cruiser. However, if the unstated aim of these modes is to teach people the benefits of cooperation, it's not really translated over into Random battles as far as I can see. Meanwhile, I'm happy to keep farming seals with my Nassau...

Marek Tucan
We'll see. I for one thing that the Guadalcanal campaign would provide material for scenarios for both Axis and Allies, though my pet thing would be an escalating set of scenarios for War Plan Orange However this would also need more profound changes in game logic probably. Allan W
I like the Dunkirk operation, but there is one really really annoying error that grates on me. When the Allied air support shows up, Colonel James White of the RAF announces their arrival. Only problem is that the RAF did (and still doesn't) have any colonels. It should be Wing Commander or Group Captain.
RETAC21
Yesss, that one.... also, the Luftwaffe didn't have He-111 torpedo bonbers at that time, but who's looking...
Rick
Not a gamer but for those who are, do you get the same results as actual naval battles such as the Solomon Islands, Bismark&Hood, Graf Spee vs the RN cruisers, etc.?
Skywalkre
No. On top of that given the maps it'd be almost impossible to try and recreate some of those scenarios.
