Marek Tucan Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 We shall see. Things may change unpredictably - for example see British tree / release with WoWP.
RETAC21 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 You left out the Kriegsmarine. The Bismarck fanboys would be insufferable if it did not appear Spain would have trouble at higher tiers, same with Portugal. USSR and Germany at least have vaporware... With paper projects? we would use Vittorio Venetos, Super-Canarias and Oquendos as they should have been.
Marek Tucan Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Spain planned to get Vittorio Veneto? Never knew Interesting, definitely
RETAC21 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Spain planned to get Vittorio Veneto? Never knew Interesting, definitely Sure, the 1939 navy plan sought the acquisition of - 4 battleships- 2 protected cruisers- 12 light cruisers- 54 destroyers- 36 topedo boats- 50 submarines- 100 MTBs The battleships would be Littorios, the 2 "protected" cruisers were defined as Super-washington (17500 tons, 36 knots, 12 8 inch guns), the light cruisers were Capitani Romani or Regolos, the destroyers would be the Oquendos (based on French machinery) and the torpedo boats, the Audaz class.

Portugal only has a chance if the game starts in 1500 and ends in the 1700s... Now thats a game I would play, at least once ETA: IIRC from early 20th century Portuguese Navy, there would be issues not only with the higher tiers, but also with the mid tiers. Low tiers too. Actually, anything above tier 2 would be very unlikely Edited November 25, 2013 by eurico_viegas
Marek Tucan Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Btw follow the blog! Right now, a caption contest for Alpha access... But most of all to try to see if the people get the image right http://blog.worldofwarships.eu/caption-contest-pt-2/ Apart from that some insight into modules:http://blog.worldofwarships.eu/modules-pt-1/http://blog.worldofwarships.eu/modules-wows-pt-2/ And some eye candy
Edmund Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) Cool pictures. Caption for contest: If you are going to bombard an island; hit all sides and do it on the move. Edited December 12, 2013 by Edmund
Colin Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I look forward to running HMS Belfast, wonder if they are going to have the Dildo class?
sunday Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I look forward to running HMS Belfast, wonder if they are going to have the Dildo class? What class exactly, Colin?
Colin Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Yea,yea, frigging auto correct....... Of course brings a whole new meaning to "fire torpedo's"!!!!
Skywalkre Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Am I the only one who's a little concerned that all the screenshots show land practically right next to every ship? I know they said no open water maps (again... why?) but this seems to be going overboard in the other direction if these pics are any indication.

Edmund Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I think there is nothing worrying in the pictures of ships being right next to land. I think it is just artist preference to show a backdrop. Great pics. As far as ships I am waiting for well; I have a huge soft spot for the Queen Elizabeth class. I like the Kongo. Also the York.
Harold Jones Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Am I the only one who's a little concerned that all the screenshots show land practically right next to every ship? I know they said no open water maps (again... why?) but this seems to be going overboard in the other direction if these pics are any indication.I'm fairly certain that it is an indication that maps will feature a lot of terrain. Also, reading through their developer blogs seems to point to using terrain to mask movements and things like carriers hiding behind Islands. Heck event their front page mentions ...while realistic graphics will shift players into the epic battles, in all corners of the planet, from coastal waters of Northern Europe to authentic archipelagos of the Pacific.
Archie Pellagio Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'm more worried how all the combat shots seem to have the ships abeam at distances that make trafalgar look like a long range engagement. Never mind aircraft carriers cruising down glorified rivers. Enthusiasm flagging rapidly...
Harold Jones Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I don't worry too much about that, I suspect those shots are more for pr than the state of game play. From what I see in the dev blogs they are trying for realistic engagement ranges and shell trajectories.

Never mind aircraft carriers cruising down glorified rivers. Enthusiasm flagging rapidly... Well, if the screenshots were at battle line to battle line distances, you would see two tiny specks Though of course I do not doubt there will be a lot of ramming speed calls from players - but that is something game design can influence only so far.
Marek Tucan Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 New Developer Blog, this time Part 1 on Destroyers in game. Note: This ain't a DD
RETAC21 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Naah, you grounded your destroyer... just like Nimitz!
