Edmund Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Checking in to see if there is any news on WOWS?
Edmund Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Well my post wasn't meant to be a complaint. I just was checking to keep up to date and the thread active for its future use. I am trying to show Tuccy my interest without pissing him off, so I maybe get invited to the Alpha or beta testing. If they start it around December 15th I will be off from work around then for over 2 weeks. So I can dedicate time to testing. I realize I am not a great game player but to cover that I counting on pity.
Marek Tucan Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 You'd be trying to get to NA server, right? (well, have few contacts there when the time comes) Anyway, Soon™ was a tongue in cheek, I know a LOT of people who want to get in ionce it starts... And it was one of the most frequent questions at recent community event

I know there are guys who do this all the time so expect them to be part of it. I want WOWS to be good.
Edmund Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) So Manic aka Chieftain posted a pic of USS Manic Edited September 10, 2013 by Edmund
Manic Moran Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 WoWS has 'caught up' substantially with WoWP. WoWP will still be out the gate several months earlier, but we're about in the alpha stage with WoWS, doing office play tests. The rock-paper-scissors circle is DD, CA, BB, with carriers performing something of a wildcard role.

What about Escorts, Heavy cruisers and battle cruisers? Got to have HMS Hood.

JW Collins Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 For some reason I really want to command an Alaska class heavy cruiser/battlecruiser.
Edmund Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 For some reason I really want to command an Alaska class heavy cruiser/battlecruiser. They sound good on paper. Did they ever fight anything?
Harold Jones Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I was playing WoWP this morning and I had a thought while flying on the "Pacific" map. I suspect that it is very similar to what a map in WS will look like, lots of places for carriers to hide behind while they launch air strikes and also routes for destroyers to sneak into torpedo range. I don't know how the size will work out though, hopefully bigger than a WoWP map. https://maptactic-production.s3.amazonaws.com/packs/maps/1118/map_39229d22b2c6daf426ffcb421b44b165e26dc207.jpg
a77 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Invisitanks in WoT are bad enough yes I will be weary worried the Russian paper battleship will be superior to everything... and invisibly...

Looks cool. Needs to bigger I think.
Edmund Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Invisitanks in WoT are bad enough yes I will be weary worried the Russian paper battleship will be superior to everything... and invisibly... If they do it right all the enemy ships will be invisable until spotted. That way my BB can sneak* up on the CA's and pound them. *Using a really large camo net.
Edmund Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Just checking in on WOWS. Anymore news? I want everyone to note how long I waited before I posted again.
Marek Tucan Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Unfotunately no news so far. Stay tuned. In the meantime, there are nice things on the Dev blog
Colin Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 How big can a map be for a naval battle to be decided in 15minutes?
Skywalkre Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Everything released so far makes it sound like they'll be giving us the WoT treatment: drastically reduced engagement ranges coupled with maps that limit where we can move and funnel us into a small number of kill zones. That coupled with the rock-papers-scissors nature of the gameplay mentioned earlier has me a little more hesitant about this title.
RETAC21 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I remain hopeful, we will see how it works out.
pikachu Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Man, this is how WOWSh should play out (and yes, I'm including the girls):
Edmund Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Ok. The anime girls are cute, but I didn't understand the balloon like things with their faces. I really don't understand why the girls have a ship strapped to them. Otherwise, sure women and ships.
