I have really high hopes for this game. Part of why I'm sticking around in WoT is to stock up on credits/xp/gold to get off to a running start in this one.

Waiting for this myself. Where do I apply to get on the alpha and/or beta version?

I fear for this game. More accurately, I fear for my work and life after this game comes available.

You can transfer creds etc. from Wot?

This was mentioned ages ago that you'd have one unified account and credits, gold, and free xp would be shared between all the games.

Given it's WG, though, and coupled with the wording in that announcement today I'm a bit hesitant now. Hopefully they don't go back on this. :glare:

Nowhere so far. Will be announced in time ;)

I trust that our friendly WG informant will post advance notice. :)

Why no submarines? What's the purpose going to be of some of the smaller ships now?

Torpedo carriers against the big boys. From the models seen on WoWP there will be destroyers, cruisers, carriers and battleships. Presumably carriers will take the role of the arty in WOT (OP!!!), battleships will be heavy tanks, cruisers would be mediums and destroyers would be light tanks.

Judging from Navyfield, if done right, DDs are deadly with torpedoes at short range and good surface scouts.

TBH subs would be very hard to balance to have any role in surface action. And they didn't do much in such circumstances - so I would say we're better off with them. In NF2 they are kinda Type - not overpowered per se, but in hands of skilled player...

It was never about recreating real combat situations, just as with WoT and WoWp. Subs offered a whole different type of playing style. Surprised and sad to see they won't be implemented.

It would be too soon to discount invisiships, remember the Philadelphia experiment?

Whatever was done in WoWP would work fine on my book, planes are gradually visible.

/sigh

WoT, WoWp and WoWs apparently won't have common credits (silver)

- Q: "This game is getting boring, what exciting and new thing will you add?" A: "We have a great addon for the game. It's called 'real life' - try unlocking it, it helps. This is no joke - one cannot play the game forever, so in your case everything is absolutely normal."

My understanding of naval warfare is limited, so my doubts may be groundless.

In (for instance) Wot the environment differs; different types of ground, bushes, risings, buildings etc. Ground will affect speed, traverse, other stuff to hide you.

In an open sea you have the same "ground" for all, perhaps islands and coves to play peekabo from. Not much else?

The airplanes shown in trailer, will they be manned by individual players?

Will Wows really be fun? Convince me.

Hopefully not! you don't want you carefully aimed strike wandering all over the map and leaving you naked.

There might be currents

Nope, they'll be controlled by the player who drives the ship that launched them like an RTS

I'm excited. Lots of big guns, and the hitpoint system in WoT should work a lot better in this. Maps with more freedom to manoeuvre is something a lot of WoT players have been asking for as well.
