Meanwhile preparations for Polish Armed Forces Day are in full effect. Armed Forces Day is 15th August. Right now you can see infantry column preparations, while vehicles are being prepared at 1st Armored Brigade base, and we might see these preparations soon. :)

This year there also will be Naval parade at the Hel peninsula.

Could be a reason to get to the Hel Peninsula by boat, but we will see.

Cool! Interesting that PTS-M is still used... What will be their fate? I completely understand that the army wants to get rid of all soviet-origin stuff as soon as possible for variety of reasons, but it would be a shame to scrap these incredibly useful vehicles. In many countries, PTS-M proved to be an essential tool when natural disasters, for example floodings happen.

Replacement for PTS-M is being developed by HSW, this new vehicle will use components from Borsuk IFV.

Are there plans to transfer the PTS-M to civilian sector? After some modernization (engine replacement, ideally a Cummins or CAT and of course air conditioning) they would be fine.

No idea what will happen with these PTS-M's when time to replace them will come. However Borsuk IFV's will use Cummins engine with Allison transmission most likely in next production batches. Probably new Heavy IFV as well, simply to put it, more and more vehicles in Polish Army uses American engines and transmissions, so it makes sense to go for it, and build MRO for them in Poland.

Here is transmission by Polish MoD, of the Polish Armed Forces Day parade, this year we also had Navy parade.

Extremely important and great news, 8 Polish companies had become suppliers of 52 different spare parts for M1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks. Cooperation between GDLS, BAE Systems, Allison and Honeywell, with Polish industry is growing.

Spare parts and various components manufactured in Poland, will be used to produce not only another batches of tanks for Polish Armed Forces, but also for other users like US Army and our allies/partners.

Very nice news, kind off meshes with the general concept of Polish economy do not falling into a economy of providing services, but keeping industry alive.

Interesting, thanks. Good news that Poland will get its own capabilities to support the European Abrams fleet.

'European Abrams fleet' - definitely not a phrase one would expect to hear even 5 years ago.

For now it is US Army Europe, Polish Army and Romanian Army. However GDLS is expecting that there is still space on the market in Europe for M1.

Have the Romanians decided on Abrams or are they still considering K2?
