I know the Polish Armed Forces Day, August 15th, commemorates the Battle of Warsaw fought in 1920 against the Bolsheviks, for instance. Yes, on this day in 1919 a 1st Tank Regiment of the Haller's Army arrived to Poland.

Damian Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 So, negotiations for 2nd executive agreement had been finalized. As soon as Republic of Korea will have new Minister of Defense, Poland and Republic of Korea will sign this agreement. New agreement contains: 180 K2/K2PL MBT's with 116 K2 + ~4 K2PL manufactured in Republic of Korea and ~60 K2PL manufactured in Poland. 80 support variants based on K2 (ARV, AVLB, AEV). MRO (Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul) in Poland. Technology transfer, production and polonization. Cost of entire 2nd executive agreement is ~6 bln USD. This 2nd executive agreement will be a base for any future contracts and production batches as per framework agreement for 1000 K2/K2PL's in total. Also K2's purchased so far will be upgraded to K2PL sometime in future, probably during major overhaul. By the way, Slovakia declared they are interested in procuring K2PL when it will be avaiable.
alejandro_ Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Thanks, here is a link: https://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=246161 According to the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz officially announced on July 2 (local time) that negotiations for the second K2 tank contract with Hyundai Rotem have been completed, and a formal contract is set to be signed. While specific contract details are to be disclosed later, it is reported to be worth $6.4 billion (approximately 8.7 trillion won). A DAPA official stated, “The contract signing ceremony is expected to be held with high-ranking government officials from both countries in attendance,” adding, “Both nations are currently coordinating the schedule and format of the signing ceremony.” It is understood that the most likely scenario being considered is for Polish high-ranking officials to visit Korea after the inauguration of the next Korean minister of national defense to sign the contract. The signing of the second K2 tank implementation contract was initially expected to take place in April this year. However, due to difficulties in reaching agreement on minor details, negotiations extended beyond June, with the second implementation contract negotiations now completed. Unlike the first contract, this second implementation contract involves delivering domestically produced K2 tanks along with developing and supplying K2PL tanks tailored to the Polish military’s performance requirements. Notably, from this second contract onwards, a significant portion of the units will be assembled locally through collaboration between Hyundai Rotem and Polish defense companies, leading to the establishment of K2 tank production facilities in Poland. Accordingly, out of the 180 units, 117 (K2GF) will be produced and directly supplied by Hyundai Rotem, while 63 (K2PL) will be produced locally by the Polish state-owned defense group PGZ. The scale of the second export contract is 180 units, the same as the first implementation contract signed in August 2022. Fortunately, despite the negotiation delays, the contract size, which had decreased to around $6 billion (approximately 8.2 trillion won), was increased to $6.4 billion (approximately 8.7 trillion won) as Hyundai Rotem agreed to meet Poland’s desired level of technology transfer. While the number of units supplied remains the same as the first Polish export at 180 (contract amount of approximately 4.5 trillion won), the contract amount has doubled. Note the 2 different designations. 22 hours ago, Damian said: 80 support variants based on K2 (ARV, AVLB, AEV). Those 80 will be acquired later?
Damian Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 1 hour ago, alejandro_ said: Those 80 will be acquired later? Within this contract these specialized variants will be developed, altough their deliveries most likely will happen somewhere around 2030.

Probably some random people decided it's a good excuse to shoot a few fireworks or maybe it was just not connected at all.
Damian Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 (edited) Great news! 1st Armored Brigade, 18th Mechanized Division received it's first batch of M1A2SEPv3's. These vehicles will go to 2nd Tank Battalion, while 1st Tank Battalion is armed with M1A1FEP's. This also marks end of service for Leopard 2A5's within 1st Armored Brigade. Now all Leopard 2A5's will serve in 34th Armored Cavalry Brigade of the 11th Armored Cavalry Division, alsongside Leopard 2A4/Leopard 2PL's in 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. Edited July 10 by Damian
Damian Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 What is most interesting on that photo, is Borsuk IFV with 15th Mechanized Brigade insignia on ATGM launcher. Which probably means that quietly, first vehicles are being inducted in to service in that unit.

Damian Posted July 31 Author Posted July 31 3 hours ago, Mighty_Zuk said: What's doing that role in the meantime? There is no equivalent for M1150 which is ABV or Assault Breacher Vehicle, while we use some AEV's or Armored Engineering Vehicles like domestic MID and MID-M based on T-72/PT-91.
Damian Posted August 1 Author Posted August 1 So we have it! 2nd executive agreement had been signed today. For around 6 bln USD, 180 K2 and K2PL + 81 support vehicles (31 ARV's, 25 AEV's and 25 AVLB's based on K2PL) had been procured. From 180 tanks, 116 will be K2 and 64 K2PL variant. Deliveries of 116 K2's will start in 2026, while K2PL's in 2028, and will be completed in 2030. So by 2030 Polish Ground Forces will have 360 K2/K2PL (6x Tank Battalions), 366 M1A1FEP/M1A2SEPv3 (6x Tank Battalions), 233 Leopard 2PL/Leopard 2A5 (4x Tank Battalions), so in total 959 Modern Main Battle Tanks (16x Tank Battalions). Yeah, sometimes we need to wait for official information. Also not always I can get good data from Armaments Agency, before contract is signed, due to obvious reasons.
alejandro_ Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Thanks I tought maybe it has to with an adjustment to technology transfer or capital work in the factory.
