Poland was investing in to infrastructure for a very long time. We have no problems moving around our new tanks. Why people in the west are thinking we are poor or something? ;)

Seriously, You should visit Poland this year, for example 15th August for Polish Armed Forces Day.

Perhaps yes, but IMHO it was a mockup.

He should. To bake in the merciless Polish summer heat, listening to speeches by Polish politicians for three time as long as the parade lasts. The parade you don't see because you try to hide from the heat.

Then again, I have been doing this for two years and the third time to be grilled is in the works(see I&I forum). Warsaw in mid August is a place to visit!

It is not about being poor, but more like updating infrastructure. It happens everywhere when new equipment is acquired.

Don't worry, new roads, bridges were being built from early 2000's. Older ones are also modernized, for around 2 decades now, Poland is a constant building zone. Honestly I am already tired of constant renovation, modernization and building of new roads.

Actually I visited Krakow a few years ago and I really enjoyed the city. Comment was not to point out bad/obsolete infraestructure, simply to ask as latest Abrams versions are way heavier than T-72 family.

Don't worry, my response was more in humour. ;)

But yes, the investment in infrastructure is large, not only when it comes to roads and bridges, but also we procure new tank transporters based on Jelcz truck, codenamed Jak, we also procure new transporters from our allies to supplement our own design.

Also military bases are upgraded, and here I will end my sentence. ;)

I have some very good news.

(Polish Army M1A2SEPv3's at Ground Forces Training Center. Photo made by myself)

Cooperation between GDLS and Polish Industry is moving forward. Right now GDLS selected and inducted in to production of various spare parts, 12 Polish companies, however we still do not know which companies, but this is information I got from GDLS so it's solid. Also this year and in coming years, number of Polish companies inducted in to manufacturing and logistics chain, will grow.

Also this year, GDLS will start to train WZM workers in terms of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) of M1 tanks and other vehicles.

Furthermore, this week, at Polish MoD, there was a visit with GDLS chairman of the board David Paddock, and it seems that production of M1 tanks in Poland, is still on the table, so we are in a very interesting position.

Today it was announced that additional 19 M1A2SEPv3's had been delivered from USA to Poland, this means that so far Polish Armed Forces received 47 from 250 M1A2SEPv3's.

Not AFV's, but relevant for Polish defence industry: Belgium has signed a letter of intent to purchase "200 to 300" Piorun MANPAD's. There is also talk about cooperation in the training of F35 crews.

Short but great video from 1st Armored Brigade, 1st Tank Battalion, our tank crews and their M1A1FEP's are currently participating in Combined Resolve 2025-II excercises at Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area. Our Armored Fist is gaining new strenght with new vehicles. :)

Music is interesting blend of Slavic/Polish folk and rap. By the way, lyrics are about tank crews. :D

@Mighty_Zuk This might be interesting for you.

Polish Armament Agency is proceding with Active Protection Systems procurement for Polish Ground Forces AFV's. Among considered systems are Trophy and Iron Fist.

This is information I received in official answer for my question from Armaments Agency.

Interesting indeed.

Did you ask if they choose Trophy, will they go to Rafael directly or through EuroTrophy?

Nope, I think it might be too early for that kind of concerns. Right now Armaments Agency want to know time of deliveries, vehicles integration times etc. I guess for some vehicles like M1A1FEP, M1A2SEPv3 and K2, Trophy is obvious choice, as it is already integrated or during integration. While for some other vehicles, a different system might be choosen.

Last photo shows ballistic shield around commander hatch, which is part of Tank Urban Survivability Kit... I have a feeling we bought more with our M1A2SEPv3's than it was officialy said to the public.

@Damian Can you confirm if the Krab numbers in wikipedia are correct?

Polish Land Forces (186 to be delivered + framework agreement for 56)

As of February 2022, 78 Krab were delivered to the Polish Army.[27] As of September 2022, 24 vehicles in possession after donating 54 vehicles to Ukraine.[24][28]

120 Krab initially ordered, all expected to be delivered by 2024.[29] 78 were delivered as of 2022. However, the delivery deadline for remaining 42 vehicles was postponed from 2022–2024 to 2025–2027.[27]

48 Krab were ordered on 5 September 2022, for a value of PLN 3.8 billion zlotys (USD $797 million).[30] Expected to be delivered between 2025–2027 due to delays.[27]

Framework agreement for 152 Krab was signed by the Ministry of National Defense on 8 December 2023. The value of the contract is approximately PLN 10 billion (approx. $2.49 billion). The funding for the contract was secured in the budget of the Ministry of National Defense.[31] Poland is considering 96 vehicles as a first batch order from this agreement.[27] The contract worth PLN 9 billion for 96 Krabs, command vehicles, command and staff vehicles, ammunition vehicles, and repair workshops was signed on 23 December 2024. The delivery schedule for this batch is by the end of 2029.[32]

The contract signed for 28 chassis with HSW back in April corresponds to the second batch?

This is a bit complex. Before the war in Ukraine, Poland had ~80 AHS Krab, we provided Ukraine with around ~54 from our own stocks and they also ordered around ~54 more new builds.

So right now HSW is during production of around 186 to replenish Polish Ground Forces stocks. However do not quote me on this, the numbers are kind confusing, everything is kinda confusing here.

Today in Poland, we celebrate Armor and Mechanized Forces Day, also known as Tankers Day.

Is a historical reason for that?

I know the Polish Armed Forces Day, August 15th, commemorates the Battle of Warsaw fought in 1920 against the Bolsheviks, for instance.
