Damian Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 Last 47 from 116 M1A1FEP's for Polish Army enroute to port. These photos were made few weeks ago.
Damian Posted June 20, 2024 Author Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) Some additional informations about Polish Army tank fleet. Today we got information from the MoD that probably in september, during MSPO 2024 expo, Poland and Republic of Korea will sign first executive order for additional 180 K2/K2PL Main Battle Tanks. This means that in near term future, active tank fleet will look like this: 180 K2 Black Panther 180 K2/K2PL 116 M1A1FEP 250 M1A2SEPv3 105 Leopard 2A5 128 Leopard 2A4/Leopard 2PL/Leopard 2PLM1 In total - 959 modern Main Battle Tanks in the fleet. This will also allow us to completely withdraw from active service all remaining T-72's and PT-91's within the current force structure. Obviously force structure over time will grow and expand and will require procurement of more MBT's. Edit: MoD so far confirmed that there is a will to continue K2PL program and to create production lines in Poland. Edited June 20, 2024 by Damian
Markus Becker Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) The definition/WAF of "near term future" is ...? Edited June 20, 2024 by Markus Becker
urbanoid Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) It depends 250 M1A2s should be delivered until 2026, original 180 K2s until 2025, M1A1s should all be here this year, K2PLs... well, that's where it depends. Edited June 20, 2024 by urbanoid

Deliveries fo 116 M1A1FEP will be completed this year, probably this month. Deliveries of 250 M1A2SEPv3's will be completed at the end of 2026, deliveries of 180 K2's will be completed at the end of 2025.
Damian Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 Korean KLTV known in Polish Army as Legwan, during tests at WITPiS test center. So far Polish Army ordered 400 such vehicles, with at least 400 more planned in future.
Damian Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 We have it! Last 47 from 116 M1A1FEP's, are unloaded today in Poland. So in next few weeks we will be able to fully rearm two tank battalions, each with 58 tanks. Besides tanks, we also received 26 M1152A1B2 HMMWV mobile repair posts. General Command also informed that right now, first M1A2SEPv3's from 250 ordered, are awaiting shipment.
Damian Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 2 hours ago, Markus Becker said: Rearm? What do the two use as of now? PT-91. 18th Mechanized Division so far used a mix of Leopard 2PL and Leopard 2A5 in 1st Armored Brigade, and PT-91 and T-72 in 19th Mechanized Brigade. Within 18th Mechanized Division, 3 brigades will be rearmed with M1A1FEP's and M1A2SEPv3's, this will be 1st Armored Brigade, 19th Mechanized Brigade and 18th Motorized Brigade (right now during formation process), however structures will change overtime so do not take too much attention for them.
Damian Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 1 hour ago, DB said: So, where are the Leo2A5s going? It seems that Leopard 2A5's and 14 Leopard 2PL's from 1st Armored Brigade will return to 34th Armored Cavalry Brigade. So brigades in 18th Mechanized Division will use exclusively M1A1/M1A2 Abrams, while brigades from 11th Armored Cavalry Division will use exclusively Leopard 2 tanks. While 12th and 16th Mechanized Divisions will be rearmed with K2/K2PL tanks.
Damian Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 7 minutes ago, DB said: Simplifying logistics. This makes a lot of sense. Correct, however keep in mind that in long term, also Leopard 2's will be replaced, either by more K2PL's or with additional M1's. And then there is also formation of two additional divisions, 1st Legions Infantry Division and 8th Home Army Infantry Division. *Keep in mind that naming convention of divisions is more historical. In practicality all these divisions are either Armored or Mechanized divisions, but even with this it's not exactly correct, for example 18th Mechanized Division will have 6 M1A1/M1A2 tank battalions, 58 tanks each so 348 tanks in total, so 18th Mechanized Division is more Armored Division than Mechanized Division. While for example 11th Armored Cavalry Division will have 4 Leopard 2 tank battalions, 58 tanks each, so 232 tanks in total, so in terms of strenght in tanks, 11th Armored Cavalry Division will be weaker than 18th Mechanized Division.
Damian Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 @DB Here is simplified scheme of Polish Ground Forces structures. Keep in mind that these structures will change over time.
alejandro_ Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 The 100th Oncilla has been delivered to Ukraine. A small company from Stalovaya Volya - Mista, which until recently was practically unknown to anyone, is exporting its 100th Oncilla armored personnel carrier to Ukraine. As some may remember, Oncilla is the same "Dozor" from Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau localized in Poland. Apparently, it is more profitable for someone to build them there. https://t.me/btvt2019/10572

Damian Posted July 10, 2024 Author Posted July 10, 2024 New consortium between PGZ and Hyundai Rotem was signed. Framework agreement is still in power, so Polish Army still plans to procure 820 K2PL's (320 produced by Hyundai Rotem and 500 by PGZ). MoD, PGZ and Hyundai Rotem desire and expect to sign second executive agreement for 180 K2PL's in september during MSPO.

Maybe TVP World which is english speaking channel. Yep, in general TVP which is state owned television, should stream it live in YouTube, eventually at their VOD site. Edited July 30, 2024 by Damian

You'll get subjected to a politician's speech for a longer time than the parade lasts. Any spots where you have a good view of the parade are in the backing sun. Head straight for the AFV exhibit in the stadium. PS: If you can get into a spot where you have a good view and aren't roasted alive, it should be great. Especially if they let Goliath's Polish cousin participate. Edited July 30, 2024 by Markus Becker
