Hey C-M, it is possible that this system might participate in "Narew" program for SHORAD system, MRAD program "Wisła" was won by new version of Patriot system that is in development for US and Poland.

Unfortunetaly I will be unable to visit MSPO exhibition this year as the same day exhibition starts, I will start my military basic course.

Thanks for the quick reply Damian! Yes previous was incorrect, it is HISAR-A low altitude system.. Both look so alike.

Wish you the best of luck on your Military Basic Course!

Can the T-55 be upgun? Think that the Israelis stuffed the 105 in theirs, but that was it. Considering that ammo development have ceased with the 100mm, I am surprised that there havent been more of an attempt with upgunning considering how many T-55s still left in the world.

Tiran-4sh and Tiran-5sh were fitted with the 105mm gun; other types kept the D10T but were re-engined. They developed a massive number of T55 variants; the -4Sh was (for example) virtually gutted; an Allison powerplant was fitted, a locally produced 105mm L7 gun was as well, the coaxial was replaced with a Browning .30 cal, the DShK was replaced with a Browning M2, new ammo storage was developed and built in, new rangefinders, and on and on...

Yes, even with 120/125 mm gun.

Russians had T-55M6 project, Ukrainians offer/ed T-55AGM with 120/125 mm gun and, IIRC, a bit downgraded version for Peru (not chosen), Pakistani Al-Zarrar (rebuilt Type-59, which itself is based on T-54A) has a 125 mm etc.

Also, there were others fitting 105 mm guns to their T-54/55/Type 59s.

Is Poland still pursuing the PL01 project?

I think I need to clear something here.

The vehicle called PL-01 Concept was just.... a huge lie, it is nothing more than a mockup based on CV90 chassis, and it is a initative of a company Bumar-Labedy with OBRUM design bureau, however this was never made per Army requirements for new tank. The requirements are not ready yet, so nobody really knows how new tank will look like in the end, the new tank codename is Gepard (Cheetah).

Actually anyone that knows "behind the scenes" and also MoD, Army, are all angry and there is sort of hate towards OBRUM and Bumar-Labedy for their incompetence in other programs like their fuckup with AHS Krab SPH chassis being huge failure.

I will tell more when I will be back from parade. ;)

Preloved T55s with a little makeover are still a lot better than no tank at all. T55M would be a pretty neato tank forany of the Syrian factions.

And Israel makes them over quite nicely, regardless of what you're after.
