Stefan Fredriksson Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 He he, that's the one.The reasons I did not credit the Tiger 1, is simply I thought he was lucky. He drove the Tiger 1/3 across the field or something. But yes, in all honesty, victory wes at least both their work.

Stefan Fredriksson Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Wormstrand11thRuinberg encounter, he is in SU-122-44, I am in T69.We along with way too few others went east.He started yelling at me for causing us to lose that flank - eventually. I did not know what to expect from him, tried to explain that if I am behind a building and two enemies come on one side, and one on the other, while I am reloading, I can sidescrape my ass off, and it wont matter. We kept on bitching back and forth for a while, and at that point I was annoyed with him.Immediately after game he opens chat with me, and we actually had a good discussion, coming out well off, and he appologized for shouting in game. Btw, we won the game. He did good dmg, and I did good spotting.

Skywalkre Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Had a really bad day up to this point. Had players on my own team shooting me (and as recently pointed out on here, there's no way I can get them in trouble for it). Had idiotic teams at high tiers with not even the most basic idea of how to play a map (doing nothing but camping both hills as the SE team on Redshire). The list goes on. Then I got Lakeville. I asked off the bat if we could get a passive scout to go mid. Two players volunteered and not a single "who the fuck are you to tell us how to play" (kind of sad how often I get that when requesting rather basic things in games). Said scout lights up several of the enemy going town and we get in some decent damage. The majority of our team also goes town and stays fairly close and doesn't advance too far (allowing us TDs to get in shots behind the church on the enemy team). Our valley group is all of 2 and does a good job holding off the enemy there (they were actually communicating quite a bit with each other through the game). The game ends 15-2. Basic teamwork, proper tank play, and basic map knowledge ended up with an impressive win. More games need to be this way.
jwduquette1 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Highway as the SW team. This map just... blows. The SW team has a huge disadvantage. It's near impossible to push town in any game (pub or competitive). Unfortunately most pub teams do just that. In the game I just had they didn't. Myself and another player were talking about how you set up to defend closer to base and about 1/3 of the team went down to the river area and along the road and set up there. Enemy came down from town and got wiped out. Ended up being a near perfect game because the northern group was equally skilled. We killed the few they had in the NW corner and then a scout lit up their base defenders and we took them out at range. Sandwiched the surviving enemies in the town with both forces. Great game and shows the potential of pub players putting a little thought into how to play maps.Even with the "map changes" I still feel like the SW Team is at a severe disadvantage. Curious to see the new map stats.
Skywalkre Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) I had a horrible start to the day. Was effectively one-shot when a 183 got a very low chance pen with HESH on the LFP of my E-100 and set me on fire. Later had 3 arty per team on the reworked (and still horrid) Komarin who focused on nothing but me. Teams finding a way to get 6-7 killed in the first minute. I started 0-4 in my E-100 which is unheard of. Then this game happened... Victory!Battle: Ensk 1/21/2014 2:37:10 PMVehicle: E 100Experience received: 3,518 (x2 for the first victory each day)Credits received: 85,212It looked like it was going to be another loss. Almost no one went town and what we had in field was dilly-dallying up north. The enemy pushed up and actually got inside that top donut set of buildings that the northern team (us) usually hangs out in. They make their push up the middle (I was in the corner of the buildings at the intersection in D1) and a friendly to my left/east is killed. That turns out to be the deciding moment. The reason is he was the best cover I could hope for. I hide my LFP behind him and take pot shots at the enemy trying to push up. A T95 moves up and charges me and I push the hull into him. He has no choices since any way he chooses to go I can simply go the other and I'm faster. That effectively negates him till he's killed by friendlies who eventually come behind. I had 2 friendlies in the rubble behind me which engaged enemies coming up the 1 line. We turned a 4-7 start into a 15-11 win! I actually made the point of contacting the survivors and telling them good job. Maybe they thought I was being facetious because no one responded. There were more I wanted to thank but in the heat of the game I lost track of who covered my butt on some of those engagements. Edited January 21, 2014 by Skywalkre
Skywalkre Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Map was Cliff. I think we all know what usually happens on that map. A majority of your team (and often tanks that shouldn't be) camp in front of that valley on the 1/2 line. As the game loads I note the other team has a unicum platoon in OP tier 9s. I don't have XVM but recognized the players (so yeah, they were really good). Top tier was 9 and I was in my T34 so had zero ability to carry. It wasn't looking good. Then the game started. To my shock the majority of players did go mid. The meds that rushed 1/2 line actually ended up crawling up to the donut and coupled with some players that rushed the normal way killed one of the unicum mediums up there. Two of the team then broke off mid and went far east to keep enemy heavies busy that were spotted going that way. The donut force then kills the last enemy medium and we begin to roll their mid-force from both the donut area and mid. The game ends up as a very easy win for us. Afterwards I double-checked the stats of most of the players on both teams to see if there were good players I simply didn't recognize on my own or if theirs was full of really bad ones. Neither turned out to be the case. Both teams were about the same mix of 46-53% players (with me the only unicum on my team to the platoon of 2 on theirs). The key was our team moved fairly together and played the map the way it should be. If more pub teams did this they'd discover seeing a unicum platoon on the other team doesn't have to mean an automatic loss.
Stefan Fredriksson Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Our team on Komarin just now.Tier 8. Against us is a platoon of AMX 50-100, driven by Danxta (59%), quikd3th (58%) and LordTata (60%). Sure enough, the did a good job, coming in 2-4 on their team. But our "crap-team" pulled through, and won.Good to beat the odds once in a while.
Skywalkre Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I'm bored out of my mind waiting for CW to start but not necessarily in the mood for a pub game. Hit Battle while on my T57 for no reason. When the game loads it's Karelia and not looking good. First, the enemy team has several players from top notch clans. Second, they have a lot more mediums than us. The match starts and despite these setbacks our team plays the map right. Our fewer and lower tier meds rush hill but get there after the Bats of the enemy team. Myself and an E5 go far south to support up the hill and heavies and TDs hang in back. Our meds (minus one who died early) play smart and don't push over. Nothing happens for a long time but they're still patient and eventually the enemy loses theirs. They peek over one at a time and myself and the meds get in some shots. Slowly their meds start to die. Another escapes off the middle side. Some heavies/TDs push up and move up on hill as well. Not too long after we own it. For a pub game it was all rather slow, dull, and methodical. No one did any YOLOing or gave up after the enemy got the hill first. They just played smart and kept at it and it paid off in the end. I wish more teams were like this.
Skywalkre Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) Jayzilla [RELIC] Map was Fisherman's Bay (btw, one of the few great maps out there). He was in a T95 and I was in my roomba (I'm only pulling a 60% w/r in it in part because I keep wanting to drive it like a medium... what crazy mobility coupled to a tier 10 gun in a turret!). The game is neck and neck. We push city, win, and the enemy pushes the W side of the map, and wins there. At this point you can tell the difference between the thinking of a good player and your average player. Pushing cap is dangerous on this map and instead he moves field between the middle road and our cap. I move next to him to cover his ass (there was a Type 59 somewhere mid I was afraid would swing in on him). The rest of our city team moves to cap, though, after the T95 pleads with them not to. It's like 6-6 at this point. Those guys get taken out and it's not long till it's just me and the 95 against 7 enemy! He stays in his spot because most of the enemy is on the W side of the map. He asks I moved back into town and I do. The Type 59 makes a wide swing into town and he somehow turns around and kills him (I was 1-shottable at that point, was the key to the game). He then turns around and just absorbs all the hits from the enemy team. I'm far enough back where I'm in no danger of being spotted and just snipe their team. We both ended up with around 5k damage and completely owned the last half of the battle. Was an amazing game. We both opened up messages afterwards at the same time to thank each other. Stefan Fredriksson Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Well, we need some more in here: TargetDummy (from the Bear Clan). Not for good playing, but for entertainment value. I killed him, he calls "bs", I reply "no, you mean "ns" "He then riles of about someone (actually dont think it was me) beeing too scared to face him.I reply "yeah, this game is about bravery...."He shuts up. I think some people need to do homework before firing up the game.

Stefan Fredriksson Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 2.First is SDP for excellent work in his KV-4 together with my T69. We held bridge on Mountain way against superior tanks, then finished off stuff under bridge and chased down the last fleeing T54E1 (we capped and won, so he survived though). Ended up with around 2500 dmg and 2 kills each. Sometimes it just clicks. Second guy I cant remember name on. It was what he wrote. One dude was raging about something.Guy writes "Aggressive", waits a few seconds, then writes "I like that in a man".A must use from now on.
Stefan Fredriksson Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Everyone! People say that 5x weekends bring out the worst.Have on first attempt today gotten 5x in 3001D, T32, T20, M8A1, Black Prince and Matilda. All teams decent or actually a bit over par.Decided to quit while I'm still ahead.
Mistral Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Obviously the mm was failing again I had 5 losing games in a row, and by losing I mean 15-3 losses here, before deciding its not a good day to play today. Good thing I bought Divinity Original sin. Its a fun RPG.
Skywalkre Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Command0dude This guy was in a T21 (a tank I reviled) in a game with tier 9 as top tier. Map was Swamp. He rushes to some spot in the mid and lights up 2 enemy arty at their spawn. Kills both. Then goes on to kill an enemy light near their spawn as well. We all have a good laugh (the 3 he had killed so far were kind of morons for not moving from spawn) at what seemed to be initial luck and push on (btw, convinced everyone on my team NOT to cross the southern bridge (we were the NE team) and even convinced a few to turn back). He then scoots forward to the far western edge of the map. He kills a Leo PT A that had retreated from the north. He then pushes onto their base and kills their last arty and a Tiger P. This dude carried in a T21 with nearly 3k damage. It was... remarkable, to say the least. Quite the game. Quite a lot of fun to watch.
Skywalkre Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Everyone in this game right now (or rather, everyone on the western flank with me): Victory!Battle: SeverogorskVehicle: Type 61Experience received: 3,924 (x3 for the first victory each day)Credits received: 55,951Battle achievements: Confederate, Mastery Badge: "3rd Class"I'm not sure if it's because I'm tired or feeling a little light headed but I was really aggressive in my Type 61 in the above battle. I was extremely vulnerable on several occasions and what separated this group from your average pub game was that they took advantage of it. There were at least 3 occasions where an enemy fired and I charged him to go around. Drawing the attention of the enemy tank he would turn and expose his side to my allies. They didn't disappoint and took out all 3 before I took much damage. After the initial push some enemy had run the middle and were back in our base near arty. Again, in a normal pub game most would continue on to base instead of turning back against the more immediate threat but in this game they all came back! Sadly, we lost arty but we wiped out the enemy group near our base and then about half of our western flank set up positions in the northern mid of the map to hold off the enemy which had wiped out our eastern group. The rest of our western group pushed back down, killing an ST-I (one of those moments again where I exposed myself so they could get shots on him) and then moving on to cap (it was a close game so the smart thing to do was this). I moved out to find arty, got off a shot but didn't kill him, and as arty was aiming on me he was killed by the cap group. I then moved to flank the enemy in the east but saw a full health 110E4 coming my way. I backed up around a corner knowing I'd proxy spot the E4 as he came around and hoped my cap group would take him out. They didn't disappoint. The E4 turned the corner, got tracked by someone at base, I got in a side shot, and then they finished him off. Amazing play from a pub group. Almost makes me want to stop playing for the day because I know it can't get much better.
Stefan Fredriksson Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 killmeanddie[YUGO] Played really well, and specifically offered me to get the last kill to get TG when chasing arty. Stefan Fredriksson Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Wow, check out this profile: mindslaver Saw him play Hellcat twice in a row, nothing special that I could see. His stats are just way... "above average", and he doesn't even seem to platoon much.
FlyingCanOpener Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Sealclubber--13 Tier 10s, none of whom stand out stats-wise (Those Maus stats--lol!) and his best tanks are medium-tier tanks that at one time were hideously OP (1k games in the M4 Sherman? HEAT spammer. 500 games in the 3601(H)? Abusing konisch gold rounds.). His Tortoise stats are really good--but I bet he was like me and played it before everyone learned its weakspots. If he applied to our clan, he'd get nods of approval for the WN8 and win rate, but would be told to learn2play tier 10s and stop sealclubbing.
