Jayzilla [RELIC]

Map was Fisherman's Bay (btw, one of the few great maps out there). He was in a T95 and I was in my roomba (I'm only pulling a 60% w/r in it in part because I keep wanting to drive it like a medium... what crazy mobility coupled to a tier 10 gun in a turret!). The game is neck and neck. We push city, win, and the enemy pushes the W side of the map, and wins there.

At this point you can tell the difference between the thinking of a good player and your average player. Pushing cap is dangerous on this map and instead he moves field between the middle road and our cap. I move next to him to cover his ass (there was a Type 59 somewhere mid I was afraid would swing in on him). The rest of our city team moves to cap, though, after the T95 pleads with them not to. It's like 6-6 at this point. Those guys get taken out and it's not long till it's just me and the 95 against 7 enemy! He stays in his spot because most of the enemy is on the W side of the map. He asks I moved back into town and I do. The Type 59 makes a wide swing into town and he somehow turns around and kills him (I was 1-shottable at that point, was the key to the game). He then turns around and just absorbs all the hits from the enemy team. I'm far enough back where I'm in no danger of being spotted and just snipe their team.

We both ended up with around 5k damage and completely owned the last half of the battle. Was an amazing game. We both opened up messages afterwards at the same time to thank each other. :D

That game points out how ridiculously OP the roomba is. 5k damage (enough to get High Caliber but he had more damage), 7 kills, 2k XP... and only a 1st Class badge.

Obviously the mm was failing again :P I had 5 losing games in a row, and by losing I mean 15-3 losses here, before deciding its not a good day to play today.

Good thing I bought Divinity Original sin. Its a fun RPG.

This guy was in a T21 (a tank I reviled) in a game with tier 9 as top tier. Map was Swamp. He rushes to some spot in the mid and lights up 2 enemy arty at their spawn. Kills both. Then goes on to kill an enemy light near their spawn as well. We all have a good laugh (the 3 he had killed so far were kind of morons for not moving from spawn) at what seemed to be initial luck and push on (btw, convinced everyone on my team NOT to cross the southern bridge (we were the NE team) and even convinced a few to turn back). He then scoots forward to the far western edge of the map. He kills a Leo PT A that had retreated from the north. He then pushes onto their base and kills their last arty and a Tiger P.

This dude carried in a T21 with nearly 3k damage. It was... remarkable, to say the least. Quite the game. Quite a lot of fun to watch.

Everyone in this game right now (or rather, everyone on the western flank with me):

Victory!
Battle: Severogorsk
Vehicle: Type 61
Experience received: 3,924 (x3 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 55,951
Battle achievements: Confederate, Mastery Badge: "3rd Class"

I'm not sure if it's because I'm tired or feeling a little light headed but I was really aggressive in my Type 61 in the above battle. I was extremely vulnerable on several occasions and what separated this group from your average pub game was that they took advantage of it.

There were at least 3 occasions where an enemy fired and I charged him to go around. Drawing the attention of the enemy tank he would turn and expose his side to my allies. They didn't disappoint and took out all 3 before I took much damage.

After the initial push some enemy had run the middle and were back in our base near arty. Again, in a normal pub game most would continue on to base instead of turning back against the more immediate threat but in this game they all came back! Sadly, we lost arty but we wiped out the enemy group near our base and then about half of our western flank set up positions in the northern mid of the map to hold off the enemy which had wiped out our eastern group.

The rest of our western group pushed back down, killing an ST-I (one of those moments again where I exposed myself so they could get shots on him) and then moving on to cap (it was a close game so the smart thing to do was this). I moved out to find arty, got off a shot but didn't kill him, and as arty was aiming on me he was killed by the cap group.

I then moved to flank the enemy in the east but saw a full health 110E4 coming my way. I backed up around a corner knowing I'd proxy spot the E4 as he came around and hoped my cap group would take him out. They didn't disappoint. The E4 turned the corner, got tracked by someone at base, I got in a side shot, and then they finished him off.

Amazing play from a pub group. Almost makes me want to stop playing for the day because I know it can't get much better. :D

Sealclubber--13 Tier 10s, none of whom stand out stats-wise (Those Maus stats--lol!) and his best tanks are medium-tier tanks that at one time were hideously OP (1k games in the M4 Sherman? HEAT spammer. 500 games in the 3601(H)? Abusing konisch gold rounds.). His Tortoise stats are really good--but I bet he was like me and played it before everyone learned its weakspots.

If he applied to our clan, he'd get nods of approval for the WN8 and win rate, but would be told to learn2play tier 10s and stop sealclubbing.

Yep, only thing our clan looks at are performances on tier 10 and tier 8 (secondary ones, for campaign and ESL). None GaF if you have 39% win on some tier 5, if you are good with tier 10s.

My team just now on Northwest.

We were the SW spawn. I'm in my 7201. I head north even though I'm starting to think the reworked SE corner is key. A 62A on our side zooms up to the NW corner all alone and runs into an enemy platoon of 3 tier 10 meds. He doesn't last long. I'm barely past the railroad bridge but the enemy has 2 arty so I have to push up to those buildings further north to get in cover. Along with me come a JgdPz 100 and IS-8.

The three of us engage in a rather lengthy exchange with the enemy platoon (a 62A, 140, and Bat). The south is where the majority of both teams are. At first it looks like we'll lose (I recall a score of 6-8 fairly early). At this point I just resign myself to this one being over and do my best to maximize damage against this platoon. The two guys with me work brilliantly and we eventually kill that platoon. At this point I look up and see the south has turned the tide and it's now 11-8. I love it when I can count on teammates pulling a game through. It gets tiring feeling like you have to carry every game.

The next bit is just pure comedy gold. Now there's only one enemy left, an enemy 4502B, and he's up on that northern road. Myself, the JgdPz 100, and IS-8 push on him. He runs off the road and over that ledge. I follow hoping to drive off on top of him but he moves. I quickly slam on reverse and barely stop myself from going over and suiciding. I settle for moving against him and getting in a rear turret shot. At this point I look up and see the JgPz 100 roaring down the hill. My internal thoughts went along the lines of "LOL, he's going to dive on the 4502... oh shit, I'm also in his path... REVERSE, REVERSE, REVERSE... SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!"

He misses me and 1-shots the 4502B. I've never hit reverse so fast in my life. It was hilarious. :D

Guy was in a WZ-131 on Prokhorovka and actually knew how to spot. He covered mid and the 1/2 line and was a big reason for a rather easy win (ended up with nearly 3.5k in spotting dmg... in a game where tier 8 is tops that's pretty damn good for a pub match). I made a point to thank him in game and in a /w afterwards.

I can't say this enough but I really wish they'd add a system where you can vote for a player doing a good job. After so many nods said player would get a buff of some kind (maybe a day of prem, a period of extra crew XP, etc.). It's rare when pubbies are useful but I would absolutely love to show my appreciation with more than just a shout out in game.

My team just now on Karelia.

Game loads in and I recognize several purple players on the other team (all alone, not platooned). I figured this was going to be a testimony to how MM needs a lot of work (it still does).

What ended up happening was a lesson in playing maps correctly means even average players can clean the clock of purples. The majority of my team pushed south, most of them went up hill while the rest went low and got shots from behind on the enemy team. The enemy purples all went hill and their team didn't support from below. We won 15-1. Wasn't even close. Damage was also spread across the entire team (I led with 1500 but the lowest was only like 700). Was reminiscent of a CW match rather than a pub game.

Map was Tundra with tier 9 being tops. He was in a T-54 and I was in the Cent I. Only 4 of our team go hill (the other 2 were lights). When we get to the hill we ran into half of their team. The lights died fairly early (combining for 1k dmg which was respectable given the maelstrom) which left the 54 and I vs the enemy survivors. We both abused hull down locations (he used dips, I was abusing gun depression) to whittle away at the enemy. We'd both bait the enemy into firing letting the other one poke out and get shots. When we pushed we shared hps. Not a word or hotkey were used but the guy had a clue how to play so nothing needed to be said. He ended up with 2.7k dmg and 2 kills and I finished with 2.1k dmg and 5 kills. We turned that one side and basically won the game for our team.

Times when you run into players like this are extremely rare but very enjoyable. Made for a very nice x5 as well.

Had one last night the 113 and my IS-8 were in sync and we plowed up their left flank, someone said he had great stats, I don't know but it just worked and we sliced and diced them. He was good without arrogance.

Bonanza1129 (183), MUNKHTUGS (JgPz 100), and hasuba (53/55)

Map was Murovanka and it got off to a bad start. We lose several players early to stupid play so we're down from the very beginning. Six minutes into the game it's down to myself (in a T34) and the 3 listed above against 7 enemy. I'm at 1/3 health, the 100 is at 1/2 health, and the other 2 are at full health. At this point we're all turtled up in the SW corner of the map.

An enemy pops out in the middle of the map at half health and the 100 finishes him off. Unfortunately he loses more health and is taken down to 1/4 health. Four against six.

I'm covering the northern side of our pocket and spot a full health IS-3 approaching. I go hull down and keep pelting away at him. I take him down to a 1-shot but he's been joined by a T57 (also a 1-shot by everyone on my team). We're at that middle section of the 2 line on that map where teams meet up and take pot shots. Seeing both I throw it in reverse and they both rush me. I figure I'm dead as I watch the 57 come over the hill and towards me while I'm still reloading. That was a big mistake on his part because he didn't have the depression to fire. Right as he gets to the point where he might have been able to he goes up in flames. I'm relieved but then see the IS-3 coming around the corner as well and I'm still not reloaded. He goes up as well. Both TDs landing killing shots right when I needed them to. Four against four. The 100 took an arty shot though and is down to 9% health and ammo racked.

I move back to my spot to keep eyes on the north. I then spot a full health 140 up on the hill on the 3 line. He's hull down and I have no shots and arty only splashes him for 50 or so. He starts to move towards me and exposes himself. I get in one shot but I'm in a bad spot if he pushes me. I pull back and see our 183 pushing up. This must've scared the 140 because he turns and runs in the open. I get in an ass shot and so does the 183. No more 140. Four against three!

From there it was simple mopping up. The other two real tanks on their team were damaged and scared so off in different corners of the map doing nothing to help their team. Ours, OTOH, stuck together and covered each other and came back and pulled out one hell of a win. I finished with just 234 hps, the 100 finished with 186, and the 183 took some hits from arty and in cleanup and finished with just 920 (which was the smart thing to do, he recon'ed by hps and ate the shots that exposed those surviving tanks that would have killed the 100 or myself).

mrcamper[DICER] a clicker... NO JOKE!

Map is Ruinberg. We're north spawn and I'm in my Cent 7/1. We have mostly meds so rush the field hard. Enemy is mostly heavies/TDs so goes town. We push over quickly and we're in the south of the map while the enemy is still mid-city area. We're up like 5-1 or something and it's looking like a blowout.

Pushing from field through their cap area and into town takes a lot out of my team. Soon we're just barely up, like 9-7, and those meds still alive are real low health. I push into town to try and cover the low health guys capping. Unfortunately the enemy zooms back, a 416 II and 263, and kills the low health guys. The 416 II comes after me and the 263 moves to finish off someone else on my team.

I take the 416 II without losing any health (I'm about 1/3 health). The 263 finishes off my teammate and he's coming for me. I'm now on the SW side of that church that's near the circle on the 1/2 line. We have 4 guys alive but my team is screaming that one, a Lorraine, is a bot. The other 2 are arty. The enemy is the 263 (half health) and an IS-8 at like 1/3.

They split up, the 263 moving behind me and the IS-8 in front. I put a shot into the IS-8. He tracks me. At this point I think the game is over and just sit still and make sure my last shot on the IS-8 hits so he's less health for the arty as they make a last stand. I fire my shot, the IS-8 is down to about 100 health, and then... BOOM. Arty takes him out.

Holy %^, I'm thinking, I'm still in this. I gun it and make it around the corner of the church JUST AS the 263 is coming around. He chases me around one full time and then arty gets another hit on him. He's down to 150ish health. He stops, turns around, and starts to go the other way. I start to turn so I can keep avoiding him and arty hits him again to finish him off.

That arty was mrcamper above. He was in the 155 58 which explained all the quick shots in succession. He was also smart and moved to the SE corner of the map so he could have shots (and avoid the enemy who pushed our base through city). Our other arty just sat in the same spot all game and did hardly anything. The above won it for us.

Map was Lakeville. None of our meds went mid so I grudginly started to in my Tiger. He comes up behind me and I yield. I wasn't feeling good about using a heavy spotting mid so figured maybe he'd last a bit longer.

He quickly spots some enemies and we both start engaging. Once the enemy is clearly in town we both push up. We run into two sniping enemies at the normal spot near the middle road and base and dispatch them. We then both, without typing out anything, move to engage the enemy forces in the valley. Once that's done we both turn to engage enemy coming in from town. He's low health at this point so I move up to take point being at almost full health. He'll fire and I'll move up to eat shots if they come. I fire and move back to give him a shot. I wait til moving up to fire again, even though loaded, because I know he's aiming next to me.

One of those rare games where someone else gets it and you don't have to communicate. You both know just how to play properly. As you can see from the shot above we carried the team.

Games like this make WoT fun. This is why I play.
