Not the "crazed Orthodox monk", not unless he could blame it on the Wahhabi Muslim in the Balkans and use it as a recruitment drive against a "lax" Protestant ethic.

Akakija is sane, fanatical, only 42, fully "up to date", and MIGHT forge a bridge between the Russian Zealots and the Olde Skoole Greek mind jobs.....Akakije has STRONG backing still from Greece, so despite Russian Zealots backing him he might "Unite The Cause"...these people are not sitting with their thumbs up their asses.

Sergei Lavrov, Russia's no nonsense foreign minister, ended his meetings with William Hague in London without any noticeable change in Moscow's uncooperative approach to various security issues, but at least on this occasion he managed to mind his language.

It was Mr Lavrov, you may recall, who subjected David Miliband, Mr Hague's immediate predecessor, to a tirade of foul-mouthed abuse – including liberal use of the "F" word – over Britain's refusal to condone Russia's unprovoked invasion of Georgia in the summer of 2008.

As one Whitehall official reported at the time, Mr Lavrov's liberal use of various expletives meant that it was difficult for officials to present a readable draft of the conversation.

Ah, the guys who throw a fit whenever a Russian submarine or aircraft comes within 200 nm of US airspace and blame it on Obama for reducing funds of systems not yet introduced.

Vladimir proves again to be manly man, exaggerating like a real fisherman.

President Vladimir Putin's opponents on Monday gleefully sought to prove the Russian strongman had massively exaggerated the weight of a pike he caught on a recent fishing expedition to Siberia. The Kremlin on Friday had announced that Putin managed to catch a 21 kilogramme (46 pound) pike while on a trip to the region of Tuva, providing television footage and pictures of the president stripped to the waist as he cast his line.

That pike in Putin's hands is like a neutron star. Small dimensions, but greater mass.

;)

hehehe

Another first for Vlad; first time in history a fish has gained weight after taxidermy.

imho even better comparison montage:

Definitely a super-heavy neutron pike :excl:

LIES! Strongman Putin towers above mere mortals, so of course 21,0 kg fish appears puny.

Strongman Putin knows what time it is.

Kramer, a former State Department official who worked on Russia, is among those calling on Obama to cancel plans for a summit next month.

"Why Obama would want to subject himself to more of Putin and not come away with anything substantive is a mystery to me," he says.

Vladimir Putin appears to be seizing on the Egyptian crisis and the U.S. response to it to expand Russia’s influence in the Arab world’s most populous country.

On Thursday afternoon President Barack Obama announced that the U.S. would be cancelling a joint military exercise with the Egyptian Army over its violent crackdown on supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Shortly afterwards, Egypt Independent reported that Putin had called an extraordinary session in the Kremlin to put “all Russian military facilities ‘at the Egyptian military's disposal.’" The report, which cited several sources without providing any further details about them, also said that “Putin will discuss Russian arrangements for joint-military exercises with the Egyptian army.”
