X-Files Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Anyone build these?(Scroll down)http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=HA
Chris Werb Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 That's a weird coincidence X-files. I was looking at these tonight with a view to buying a bunch of them for a VBCW (Very British Civil War) army. They are definitely made with wargaming in mind. i.e. simplicity of construction and rubustness trum detail. They are not and cannot (without an insane amount of work) be displayed alongside the likes of Tamiyas etc. even allowing for the difference in scale.
X-Files Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 (edited) They struck me as being something the World Of Tanks fans would be into, and as such closer to the WWII 1:48th scale offerings (to wit - http://www.hobbylinc.com/1:48_scale_tank_plastic_model_military_vehicles). Gotta give the guy props for creating models of obscure AFVs, even if they're expensive. Obviously the last entry begs for this companion http://www.themotorpool.net/German-Horch-108-Type-1A-Command-Car-with-Crew-p/mf48508m.htm and this http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/tam/kit_tam_89782.shtml with about 30 foot of sidewalk to game out the inevitable passion play. I'm putting together a late 30s communist force and was also looking at these ranges: http://www.empressminiatures.com/userimages/procart30.htm http://www.agnminiatures.com/html/soviet_union.html http://www.greathallminis.com/SpanishCivilWar/scw_veh_foa.htm I think Force of Arms may have gone bust.

Funny thing, years ago i remember watching Richard III with Ian McKellen that was made in the mid 1990s and set in a civil war torn Britain in the late 1930s, however i was very disapointed when the tanks used were T-55s and T-72. Needless to say i was hoping for something more british for the tracked ones....
