I'm going through a Battle of Britain phase just now. I picked up a couple of cheap old Airfix kits in 1/72 scale, a Hurricane and a Bf-110. The German plane does not have the swastikas for the tail of the aircraft. I keep forgetting that political correctness trumps history, even in model building.

So, does anyone out there have a couple of swastika decals that they might be willing to let go of?

I have some old Hasagawa ones, I don't know how good they still are, but the white is not yellowing.

PM me your current address and I will post them to you this weekend when I can get to the post office.

Do they make printable decal material?

They do, various companies make decalfilm that can be printed on by a bubblejet printer, then you use a spray to seal the decal.

There are a couple of problems though. Firstly very very few bubblejet printers use white ink, they use colour onto a white medium, such as paper, so you cannot really print fine white decals. Whilst some decal film is 'white' trying to create a white cross, for instance, or other white symbol without a darker surround essentially comes down to cutting the symbol out rather than printing it.

Michael, did Doug take care of you on this? Let me know, I have plenty of spare swastika decals if you still need a pair or two.

Mike, I'd be more than willing to part with some. Likely Doug has inundated you with them, but if not please feel free to call.

Thanks, everyone. Doug did, indeed, inundate me with a very nice parcel of them.
