scj1014 Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 I have been wanting to build one of these ever since I saw it at Ft. Knox back in the early '90s. Never before available in plastic. I never was willing to part with what Accurate Armour wanted for their resin offering. http://www.dragon-mo...asp?pid=DRA6750
Manic Moran Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 That's annoying. I just bought the AA kit.
Corinthian Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I don't get the description. It mentions that some parts are new tooling. That got me thinking there was an old version of the kit. I wonder how well this stacks up against the AA kit. Really lost love in this hobby. I remember reading up on this kit, and some years ago, I'd be salivating and computing my savings if I can afford it. Now? I just read the specs, and then went to a bike manufacturer's website.
DougRichards Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 And from the other side of the ditch http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=MG-TS-002
Max H Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I don't get the description. It mentions that some parts are new tooling. That got me thinking there was an old version of the kit. Needless to say, most parts on this T28 Super Heavy Tank, except for the suspension, wheels and cupola, are newly tooled. T95 used common suspension, didn't it? And sharing a cupola design with other tanks would make sense

And sharing a cupola design with other tanks would make sense It's an all new tooling. Dragon got gigged on the first release of the CAD images because while the suspension and tracks are pretty close to the Sherman standard they are not actually identicle. So to their credit Dragon updated their CAD drawings (and presumably the final kit) with the modified bogies and tracks. $70 is a pretty good deal for this kit, it'll look lovely next to the Meng Tortoise. Mr King Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Anyone need some detail shots of the real one let me know. I have tons I can upload for you.
ShotMagnet Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Seems only fitting. After all the paper-panzers Dragon is willing to produce, a few from the other side is warranted. Shot
DougRichards Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Seems only fitting. After all the paper-panzers Dragon is willing to produce, a few from the other side is warranted. Shot Especially as these were actually built, where so many of the Geramn vehicles were just pipedreams
