Steelspear Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Ok, so I had some time and some brass over and I thought I´d make myself a little toy. Here it is, my little blackpowder cannon. The gun itself, without the rear carriage is 50x30 mm. The boore is 5 mm, the caliber is L/7, 35 mm.Material is brass, aluminium, rubber and stainless steel. Time to make it: under 4 hours on a manual lathe and on a manual mill. Blueprints? Nope, I made it as I went along. The videoclip does not give a proper depiction of the sound since the mic cant handle the "POP!" I hereby celebrate Swedens national day by firing of a salute! http://youtu.be/FlgM-7iSFQg
Marek Tucan Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Nice little gun to repel any insectoid invaders with a dose of canister!
TonyE Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 The Gun is Good. Nothing beats some handy pocket artillery.
Max H Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Artillery is magic? Consider me jealous - how many coke cans have you terrorised so far?
Steelspear Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 Artillery is magic? Consider me jealous - how many coke cans have you terrorised so far? Ehum... Yeah, about that... The second you put something in the barrel and fire it the piece require a weapon license in Sweden. So I have not fired anything from the cannon... Yup, not a thing. Not even a grain of salt. Not one grain...
Corinthian Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Right.... Would love to have one at the office. It'll sit perfectly on top of my filing cabinet - which has a 360-degree view of the entire office room. Load it with appropriate ammo, aim....
