The beer one had a good run, lets see how this does.

Best: so far, probably aspalls. However, that is from a lamentably small sample, and I am sure I shall find a superior one soon. Research is ongoing.

Worst: probably one of those ones that come in 2l plastic bottles. I've never found one of those that is even drinkable, to give some idea of how terrible they are I went camping with a few friends and a couple of bottles a year or two back (when I shouldn't really have anything alcoholic, and so were fairly tolerant of bad stuff - beggars can't be choosers and all that) and we ended up throwing it off a cliff. It really was that bad.

Littering and under age drinking - what a rebel :P

I have had Woodchuck, Honrsby's, and Strongbow. Woodchuck is alright, but its too sweet. Its like drinking spiked apple juice. Don't care for Hornsby's. I like Strongbow it is not bad. A Irish themed pub near me serves a drink they call Snake Bite. It's Strongbow cider poured over Harp beer. I have not tried it but one of my brother in laws drinks it every time we dine there. Those three are all the ciders I have tried to date.

The best cider I ever had was from a small town local press in Dexter, Michigan. Unfortunately food laws have caught up with them and they're no longer allowed to make fresh cider.

Ahh, but you're talking about the alcoholic variety. Well, there's always Dicken's Cider. Sometimes I just want a hot Dicken's Cider, but most of the time I go for the hard Dicken's Cider.

I like dry apple ciders like Weston and Magners. Had a tad bit too much Strongbow in my younger years so that one is no favourite.

Here in Sweden there are a LOT och weird ciders like blueberry and such, that and sweet pear or apple ciders, not my cup of... well, cider.

I'm partial to the less/non-fizzy cloudy ciders.

Don't drink very often, so I don't have any to check the labels on - but I recall one was "Wyld Wood Organic Cider", or you could try "Weston's Scrumpy Cloudy Cider" - both from the local Morrisons. Sainsbury tends towards the fizzier types, and the plastic bottled stuff is usually fairly nasty - the 'English Style Ciders' are usually better than the Strongbow types, but they are all too effervescent for my taste.

I only drink cider, and am sick to death, nay, just plain bored, of Blackthorn/Strongbow/Woodpecker

that is the standard issue in pubs on draught. Magners, cider on ice? Yuk. £3.50+ for less than a pint? Forget it.

Most pubs are so unadventurous when it comes to cider, even though they may have guest ales on, and there has

been a CAMRA 'real cider' campaign for a while. Mind you, i remember it was only 25 years ago when pubs had

no cider at all, and it was a bit of a novelty.

The only other "standard" issue draught cider I've come across is Stowford Press, which is a nice change from the other common ones.

Our local beerhouse has some guest ciders, same price as the regular stuff, the last one I had was called "Saxon cider", 6.5% proof, was bright green and came out of a jerrycan under the counter! By god it was gorgeous! But, more than a half pint and i'd be ill!

I do like pear ciders which are becoming all the rage in the supermarkets, and Butlins at Skegness (we go for the rock and Blues fest in January) now has it on draught, which is very unusual. But I can imagine it too sweet for many a pallet.
