Sinistar Posted March 17 Posted March 17 a dichotomy of the game is to somehow promote 'diversity' and 'equity and inclusion' at the same time these are two opposing and competing priorities since obviously the more equal things are the less diverse they are and vice versa a few years ago when there was rowdy debate that the rainbow flag was not inclusive enough because literally there were no black and brown stripes represented as if the rainbow colors were to be taken literally and so what was meant to be inclusive to begin with- symbolically by the representation of the rainbow flag- the argument then morphed into it was not exclusive enough- exclusive specific new colors needed their own representation distinct from everyone else to capture their unique experiences and self promotion everyone wants to be a snowflake in their own movie and at the same time join with groups for mutual sense of identity, protection or security or anonymity they can sometimes bring in a way that is how it tends to behave the problem i see it are the people who often believe themselves to be do gooders seem to have the most time on their hands to tinker and force obligations on everyone else- look here there is a someone who identifies as a trans centaur- give respect then once that whole thing jumps the shark it moves to the next thing there is no end to that game
Ivanhoe Posted March 17 Posted March 17 String Theory is Honky Theory? https://freebeacon.com/campus/disqualifying-member-of-top-doe-physics-panel-said-white-empiricism-undermines-theory-of-relativity-accused-israel-of-genocide/ Quote A professor of physics and gender studies who has argued that "white empiricism" undermines Einstein’s theory of general relativity now sits on a top physics advisory panel within the Department of Energy, raising questions from fellow scientists about the panel’s integrity and providing a potential target for the Trump administration as it seeks to stamp out DEI within the federal government. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein, a cosmologist at the University of New Hampshire who has suggested that string theory "failed to succeed" because the field has too many white men, was appointed to the High Energy Physics Advisory Panel (HEPAP) under the Biden administration in 2024. The panel advises the Energy Department on research and funding priorities for particle physics, giving it significant say over which projects receive federal support. Quote Her role at the Energy Department has rankled some scientists, who say that an institution tasked with directing federal research should not be advised by a woman who, in one 2020 paper, wrote that "Black feminist theory intersectionality should change physics." Quote She first raised eyebrows in 2020 when she argued that a culture of "white empiricism"—in which "only white people" are deemed capable of objectivity—"undermines a significant theory of twentieth-century physics: General Relativity." I'm thinking that UNH is probably not a good place to pursue a STEM degree.
Sinistar Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) i recall as an undergrad a feminist chapter insinuated into the last section of an assigned text coursework related to symbolic logic and epistemology which literally was gender neutral to begin with- the material is mostly abstract and formal and discussed the structure, syntax, grammatical rules of symbolic languages the feminist section literally argued that everything discussed up to that point was essentially from the perspective of male pedagogy and did not take into account of women's experiences not a joke they literally inserted gender oppression in a theoretical course which had nothing to do with gender and so at that point you could already see that the supposed 'equality' espoused by feminists was not really that at all but a blatant attempt at a female centric power grab again which is why it is called FEMINism rather than use a gender neutral term or something of that kind you can only assume over the years with new classes matriculating these sorts of examples become more and more numerous and more normalized as part of the pedagogy and the collective consciousness throw it at the wall until it sticks repeat it by rote until it eventually is realized Edited March 17 by Sinistar
Rick Posted March 18 Posted March 18 The Democratic Party is in deep trouble. It can be depressing that so many Americans believe Communism is the answer. No one with an ounce of moral integrity or intelligence could be a national, and probably, a state level candidate for the Democratic Party. The only person lower than this is people who vote for today's Democratic Party. https://news.yahoo.com/news/ocasio-cortez-leads-poll-democrats-145717114.html

Same Same in Marin County: they don't wanna build affordable housing on Mt Tam, but I'm sure there a toxic waste dump they can build on. As usual redwood trees are more important than n***ers
