Take a bite out of crime;

The NYPD chief bitten by a city councilwoman during a raucous shelter protest last week in Brooklyn is “pissed off” the pol is making herself out to be the victim, The Post has learned.

“After 31 years on the job, I’ve never been bitten, and I can’t believe someone would just bite another human being,” Deputy Chief Frank DiGiacomo told a friend after City Councilwoman Susan Zhuang allegedly bit him at a proposed shelter site in Bensonhurst July 24.  “I can’t imagine someone would want to have somebody else’s blood in their mouth.

“The thing that bothers me the most is that she is making out like she’s the victim,'” he said, according to the friend.

Congresscritter Jamie Raskin saying that they will stop Trump from taking office in 2025.  Insurrection!  Treason! By their rules.....

I already touched on this in another thread - these comments came after oral arguments in front of SCOTUS over states trying to remove Trump from ballots but before SCOTUS made their decision.  The clear rules outlined by SCOTUS coupled to legislation Raskin tried to push failing means there's little reason to suspect what you're implying.  Not that that will stop you from believing what you want regardless of reality...

ETA - And, as always, it rings hollow to see the feigned outrage over comments like this (taken out of context because, heaven forbid you ever try to find the context) when you have no issue supporting Trump who actually tried to overthrow the election of '20.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A day after a report on a probe of the village's finances found south suburban Dolton is more than $3.5 million in the red, Mayor Tiffany Henyard – who is accused of misusing taxpayer money – was nowhere to be found.

Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who was hired by the village board to investigate Henyard's handling of village finances, released preliminary findings that the village is not only in significant debt, but that credit card spending is out of control.

Henyard hasn't responded to requests for comment, and wasn't at Dolton Village Hall on Friday. Her office did not respond to repeated requests for an interview.

Village employees said Henyard wasn't in the office, and didn't say when she would be.

Oh, that also. All people deserve an opportunity to go to the afterlife with some repentance, nevertheless.

No Christian should be glad when a person goes into H*ll. That was the sin of Tertulian, one of the two Fathers of the Church that was not canonized. The other is Origen.

It's hard not to form judgement that's for sure.  Being from around a Southern Baptist area I'v gotten to listen to "good Christians" announcing the eternal damnation of just about everybody they can think of.  It never goes over top well when you point out that it isn't their call to make.  Too many believers spend too much time actually wishing Hell on others and that's not a good thing.

Having said all that I still feel like these people selling fetus' are monsters of a type that would make Grimm shudder.  What's the phrase "banality of evil"?  The veneer of civilisation is even thinner than we think.

I think they "simply" are somewhere on the spectrum of psychopathy - non-violent, presumably, but certainly without any empathy whatsoever. In most medical fields too much empathy is a problem, especially among surgeons, so in that sense it's not very surprising. None of that excuses anything. Note the role of the lawyers to define in which ways they can exploit regulatory loopholes to earn the clinic money with baby parts.

The question that all should be asking themselves is, "If they are willing to do that to defenseless fetuses, what are they willing to do to me?"

Given statements made so far, it is not far-fetched;

Democrat Paula Collins, who is challenging Stefanik’s House seat in New York’s 21st Congressional District, made the comments during a public Zoom town hall this week.

“Even if we were to have a resounding blue wave come through, as many of us would like, putting it all back together again after we’ve gone through this MAGA nightmare and reeducating basically, which, that sounds like a rather, a reeducation camp,” Collins said, per Fox News. “I don’t think we really want to call it that,” she added, “I’m sure we can find another way to phrase it.”

Last October, Hillary Clinton said, “Maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the [Trump] cult members, but something needs to happen.” In 2021, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson said, “There are millions of Americans, almost all white, almost all Republicans, who somehow need to be reprogrammed.”

The most strange thing from the video, seems to be how unregulated the topic is in the US.

On one hand the material is valuable for research and medical usage, on the other hand it should be clearly regulated and not something with which you can make money.

replying to Ivanhoe's point:

That all comes down to whether a person is able to defend themselves or not.  The reason that the "D" wants to take guns away from law abiding citizens is so that they can do to the law abiding citizen things that they can't do to armed citizenry.  You'll note that there is no effort to limit criminals having guns.  All the means target the law abiding rather than the criminals.

From the chair I sit in I believe that you can tell most everything you need to know about someone by how they treat the very young, very old and animals.  If  a person is willing to dismember a fetus for parts that is a moral line I cannot cross over even get near.
