Get with the times it's climate change. It covers all the bases, heat waves cold snaps no change to the weather. All the fear with no need to make up that pesky evidence.

Climate change can affect geological processes and even solar weather you know....

And, according to some, the weather on other planets.

Looks like @rmgill got out of the boat very timely.

BREAKING: Far-Left CNN Officially Closes Its World News Headquarters in Atlanta After More Than 35 Years (VIDEO)

CNN’s Kate Bolduan dropped a bombshell announcement on Friday, revealing that CNN would be closing its CNN Center headquarters in Atlanta. The decision comes in the wake of declining viewership and increasing financial pressures.

I was lead engineer to design/build two IDF closets for the two new News Room floors over at the Techwood campus in one of the buildings. (Turner had two main campuses, CNN Center over near downtown and The Techwood campus for the other turner Properties over next to Midtown and Georgia Tech).  AT&T dictated that we sell CNN Center to downsize the building footprint. Where as CNN news production had 5 floors and multiple studios, they were being constrained down to smaller foot print and of course fewer people. There's still a 5 floor presence in DC (the main location) and New York. Under Jeff Zucker's tenure the centroid of the news folks moved up north to be where the cool folks were.

I exited in May, in disgust over a number of awful decisions management was making around my areas of operations as well as the general work environment. CNN wasn't yet closed out, but many of the floor were in the process. My floor of almost 15 years there was cleared out a few weeks back. One of my old co-workers sent me photos.

Under AT&T the common view is that they've been downsizing it to sell off the brand. The Warner Brothers Discovery leadership (part AT&T and partly Discovery Media) have been positioning various parts of the brand to be sold off.  The thinking by many of us (employees) is that the'd do that to CNN. AT&T paid a lot for Warner Media and it was going to get it's $ out of it by selling off bits. It didn't help the flagship brand had been run into the ground by Jeff Zucker.

When Ted exited, the Sports teams were spun off, to one of Ted's kids if I'm not mistaken, Atlanta Spirit (Hawks and Thrashers). Which went defunct in 2015. The Braves went to a different company. I seem to recall that there was some talk of turning off or turning down TCM and selling the MGM film Library. 😪 Time Warner Really took Ted to the cleaners and fucked him over.

There was writing in the wall, it seems.

Kudos for recognizing it!

Well as being intimately involved in the physical infrastructure of the data centers and telecom, it's kinda hard to avoid that.

But the sale of CNN center was announced in 2020.

https://nypost.com/2020/06/29/warnermedia-puts-for-sale-sign-on-cnn-center-in-atlanta/

We were told of the plans back then not to talk about it outside the company but that we also had to work on shifting the various IT assets around. Which is why I went over to Techwood about that time to get things there setup. I spent 2021-2023 designing and deploying an $800,000 fiber optic plant for the campus because no-one had spent any time on that for like 20 years. We had an aging plant of OS1 SC fiber links that were all full. I had a double redundant path of thousands of links put across the campus and through the key buildings of OS2 LC Panduit and Corning MTP cassettes.

The sale was announced in 2021.

While I kinda expect anti-Semitic quasi-violence at a far-left campus like UWM, the lack of video evidence is telling. Note that I put no stock in assertions by the campus cops nor the administration.

A Minneapolis public school teacher called for the eradication of the Jewish state during an event commemorating "past socialist revolutions," stating that she does not support a "complete ceasefire" in Israel because she "only want[s] one side to stop fighting."

Meredith Aby-Keirstead—a social studies teacher at Kennedy High School in suburban Minneapolis—spoke at an Oct. 21 Freedom Road Socialist Organization panel, which aimed to contrast "China's socialist policies to the imperialist agenda of the United States." During her speech, however, Aby-Keirstead steered the conversation away from China, opting instead to praise the "wins of Palestinian freedom fighters" and advocate for terrorism against Israelis.

Mayor Adams has a problem.

He’s a bit of a Turkey…

Adams’ chief fundraiser raided by FBI over alleged kickback scheme involving Turkish government

The home of a top fundraiser for New York City Mayor Eric Adams was raided by the feds early Thursday morning as part of an investigation over an alleged kickback scheme involving the Turkish government and a Brooklyn construction company.

Federal agents burst into the Brooklyn home of Brianna Suggs, a campaign consultant and lobbyist — just as Adams abruptly bailed on a slate of White House immigration meetings to fly back to the Big Apple almost as soon as he had landed in Washington DC, The Post confirmed.

The raid was connected to a broader public corruption probe by the feds looking into whether money was illegally funneled to Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign via a Williamsburg-based construction company – and was purposely conducted while the mayor was out of town, law enforcement sources said.

Investigators specifically sought evidence of whether Adams’ campaign conspired with the Turkish government and the construction company to move foreign cash into his campaign accounts by using straw donors, the sources said.

A straw donor is a person or company who illegally makes a donation with someone else’s money – but using their own name.

The feds’ warrant – which was obtained by The New York Times – said agents were looking for evidence of the theft of federal funds, wire fraud, conspiracy to steal federal funds and wire fraud conspiracy.

Investigators were looking for proof that the campaign kicked back benefits to principals and employees of KSK Construction Group – as well as Turkish officials.

Neither Suggs – whose firm has earned more than $150,000 from the mayor’s campaign team since 2021 – nor Adams have been arrested or charged with a crime.

Adams said he hasn’t been contacted by any law enforcement agency but flew back to the city to “be on the ground” and “find out exactly what was taking place.”
