Personally, I find this databit of info on the differences between men and women extremely amusing.  While I am sure there are many many men who never think about the Roman Empire at all (pretty sure I know a few myself), I daresay there is more than an element of truth here, and of my current group of male friends (at least those I see regularly), every single one of them will pipe in if a discussion veers into things Roman (or WW2  or Monty Python, or Tolkien, for that matter). The same definitely cannot be said for the female friends and acquaintances. (with some exceptions, of course).

But let's not overdo it. Personally, I don't think about the Roman Empire that often. Maybe only 3-4 times a week. Well, unless I am reading or watching something about the Romans, which I guess happens somewhat regularly. Or unless my eldest son forwards a youtube video covering how every Roman emperor met his demise, or if I am looking into how quickly to build a palisaded camp for your military contingent (as one does), or...

Seems probable that Hana had to pay with some form of bank check (counter check, maybe?) or EFT; that much cash would provoke all sorts of Treasury Dept alarms. Yet the feds seem quite confident about the bars and who bought them. With the looming menace of CBDCs and the elimination of cash, it seems obvious that the federal government would be tracking physical gold purchases in anticipation of another confiscation a la Executive Order 6102. Physical bullion is clearly not a good medium of exchange for incautious criminals.
