They are coming out with a new DLC called "Dawnguard". It will feature a new perk tree for werewolves. You can join two different factions, the vampire faction and become a vampire lord, or join the Dawnguard and become a vampire hunter. Also they are finally introducing crossbows. Looks like a lot of fun.

I guess everyone is to busy fighting tanks or the War of the roses. I bought Skyrim a couple of months ago and been spending more and more time in it. Have gone a bit mod crazy. Nexus has become my new BFF. If you are between girlfriend and have "needs" there is "Loverslab" for those other mods. Having fun as a drinking and womanizing Breton. Thank god they didn't have all of this when I was 18, I would never have left the house.

By far my favorite companion is this lady. fun fiesta and a good drinker! Although she is beginning to get jealous of my othr female companions.

I also enjoy some of the eye candy followers as well

I have not abandoned Skyrim. According to my Steam account I have put in 750 hours so far. I have well over a hundred mods installed. Have all the DLC but have not played through it all yet. So much to do in Skyrim. Colin may I suggest this website Skyrim Gems. It is a list of many out standing mods that have been well tested by the community and has links to the mods, most on Nexus,. The Nexus Mod Manager has been a very awesome addition to making installs and uninstalls of mods clean and smooth. I have very very very few crashes. Colin if you are having crashes I can link you to instructions on how to enable a log to be kept by the game so you can see what is causing the crashes. Also it is a great idea to run Skyrim BOSS to get your mods into the best order and to tell you if it detects any potential conflicts. Link here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6/?.

May your path lead you to warm sands :P

Do you have "open cities" yet, very useful they have some useful memory changes there that really help stabilize the game.

So yeah, during the autumn sale I bought Skyrim Legendary for $10 because I can't afford FO4... and next day I went out and bought a GTX 970 so I can play it with all the graphics mods. Just not good at not spending money....

anyway I set it up with

- pretty much all the mods in the Real Vision ENB list and the game looks absolutely gorgeous with them

- HD characters + some obligatory skimpy female armors but sadly I think I'm getting too old for this and might go with a "realistic" HD set instead

- Real Shelter + Wet&Cold + JK Skyrim cities + a cute small starter shack by Riverwood

- just installed SkyTEST and ACE + ASIS + Duel last night cause even at just lvl 8-9 combat is becoming a joke and overall game balance is severely lacking

- plan to install convenient horses and campfire + ineed and that's about it, then actually play the game

The good thing about getting into it so late is that all major mods are very mature

Lol cant afford $60 dollar game, buys $700 dollar video card to play $10 dollar game. I like it.

Fritz I don't know how comfortable and familiar you are with Skyrim modding, but are you aware of LOOT and Wrye Bash? Loot will keep your mods in proper load order, and Wrye Bash will automatically make small patches to help mods be more compatible together. Both programs work together great and really help the modding experience.

LOL yes it's really bad... but I spent about $300 for the 970 (black friday) and I hope I can sell my 660 on ebay for about $100 ...

I run Bash, yes, and I pretty much only install mature, widely used mods that are compatible with each other. The only problem right now is Real Shelter is not compatible with the new Campfire and the guy has no time to update it. I'm actually looking into what's needed to make it compatible. For me rain falling through shelter is a huge immersion breaker...

What GTX 970 is $700? I bought my MSI at full price for only £280 (around $400 ish, and our electronics prices are higher (roughly 1$ = £1, rather than 1$ = £0.6)

As FO4 uses the same engine as Skyrim, you'd have ended up buying the 970 anyway....

Vanilla Skyrim runs fine on my old 660 GTX

It gets bad only when you load up all the graphics mods that make it PRETTY.

The best thing to do in Skyrim is get lost.

I try to play semi-hardcore with no fast travel and very rarely check the map... most of my nav in unknown places is "let's see where this road leads" or "THAT way looks good". That's how I got to Markarth from Whiterun when I was only trying to reach Falkreith. It's more fun to discover places this way. Also, Markarth was love at first sight, I will try to take it over if at all possible.

Soo I'm trying to play with Duel-Combat Realism, which is harsh and emphasizes heavily on blocking... as a lightly armored dual-wielding swordsman ...

I die a LOT. Have actually walked away from two dungeons. Basically once you get surrounded you're dead no matter what.

Hence the reason for followers, plus they can carry your junk. There is a mind control spell that allows you to take over NPC's along with resurrect and make harmless spell. that way you can use the local bandits as your followers and let them do the dying.

Yeah I have Lydia... but she's suicidal. I'm in Markarth now and there's some guy in the pub with a big sword, offering his services. Might hire him.

Tonight I have to check on her armor.

Also I realised one of my mods increases the size of the mobs so that's something else to look at.
