chino Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 The only 9mm semi pistol I ever fired is a Beretta 92F, so I can't say if it is the best/worst. But it's a tad large especially the pistol grip. Ergonomics are very appealing.
shep854 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Something interesting is going on here...I think I like it.... Is this one of Oleg's shots?
Colin Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 (edited) Of course marketing has an effect on gun designs and not always for the better http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Mossberg-500-Chainsaw-1.jpg I often wondered why Norinco did not make the Broomhandle, until I owned one. talk about taking the long road to a successful conculsion.http://lapetoire.free.fr/public/mod%20poing/M/Mauser%20C96.jpg Edited October 22, 2011 by Colin
shep854 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 If the ban on Chinese arms imports into the States is ever lifted, there might be a market for new Broomhandles.
rmgill Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Is this one of Oleg's shots? Heh, I wish! Because then I'd have a chance of meeting her. It's just some photo a gun blogger came across and pointed out. Pretty nifty given she's schlepping two rifles and apparently doing some sort of biathalon and not small bore at that. I suppose she could be running to the range with just what she can carry on the bike (I've done that before).... What ever the story, can't say I wouldn't at least chat her up given half a chance.

Either that or it is a still from some strange eastern European porn movie
rmgill Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Either that or it is a still from some strange eastern European porn movie Oh sure, make it even MORE interesting. I can't help but think she sort of looks like a Czech lady friend of mine....same kind of high cheekbones and almost but not asian eyes but with a definite european nose. Lovely those nicely blended genetics....
shep854 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Tomas lock himself in his lair again? He usually chimes in sooner.

Doug Kibbey Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 I don't think he's a fan of shooting. That's what minions are for. Evis Genius Overlords don't dirty their hands with the wet work if it involves anything beyond a button press.
Hittite Under The Bridge Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 (edited) Did that start out as a Browning design? Browning offered his semiautomatic shotgun design to Winchester who promptly rejected it. After they realized they had perhaps made one worst decisions in firearm history, Winchester set out to design their own, and finally came up with the Model 1911, or more popularly known as the "widow maker." Browning had patented the operating handle, so Winchester came up with the idea to move the barrel backwards to charge the shot gun. Properly done, with the butt of the shotgun against the hip, it's safe. However, many people thought (and still do according a fellow at a local flea market) that it was safe to load and unload the gun by placing the butt on the ground and pushing down on the barrel. Um....nope. http://mcalesternews.com/x963719589/Gun-goes-off-four-injured?keyword=leadpicturestory Edited October 23, 2011 by Hittite Under The Bridge

Colin Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Could that actually be a better configuration for breaching? Try slinging it over your back with that handle.
Ivanhoe Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 http://mcalesternews.com/x963719589/Gun-goes-off-four-injured?keyword=leadpicturestory Another one of those .12 gauge shotguns.. sigh. Roughly 3.4 inch bore diameter.

Ivanhoe Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 \.12 guage according to the article. Um, yeah. Point one two gauge, i.e. an 8.3 pound lead shot, which would have a diameter of three point four inches. Like I said.

Richard Lindquist Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 What is this for? Killing entire flocks of birds at one time? Yes. Years ago on the Chesapeake Bay, "market gunners" used to go out into the Bay and shoot into flocks of ducks with a Punt Gun, load the dead ducks into their punt and head for shore to send the ducks up to Baltimore for restaurants and meat markets.
Colin Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Also used here along with nets. Nothing to do with sports, just harvesting.
