shep854 Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Good performance for a budget-tier Century Arms build. When first released, the VSKA had a litany of QC problems

It does, though I think I would prefer a Mauser carbine or mousqeton look coupled with a C96 pistol grip (to stay within one manufacturers theme), perhaps with a metal ten round magazine styled after the 1891 Mauser fixed mag. Could even add a "red .300" grip vis a vis the "red nine"...

The whole "bicycle gun" is a curiosity; https://velocipedegallery.com/bells-whistles/ja-stevens-bicycle-rifle-patented-sept-8-1854 Usually a rather small caliber. For what purpose, who knows. Maybe to shoot out the tires of a pursuing timber wolf.
Markus Becker Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Hm, wouldn't the most evil 1911 have the serial number 9? 😇

To shoot stray dogs, same as whole bunch of "Velodog" revolvers and other period small arms. Plus some poaching possibly.
Ivanhoe Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM This sort of thing gives me the willies; Dunno why the video icon shows a Barnes TSX, as none of the ammo discussed have a TSX payload.

Cyclists would especially have a concern as they'd be riding and dogs would chase, the risk of Rabies was serious and thus the specific category of Velo-Dog Pistols became a thing.
bojan Posted Monday at 04:03 PM Posted Monday at 04:03 PM IIRC S&W marketed their 1902 Ladysmith .22 revolver* something like "Ideal for a modern cycling women, as a protection from rabid dogs and ruffians" *Incredibly adorable little thing. And pretty accurate too.

On the other hand, after seeing how some cyclist act in such a entitled manner, the prospect of them being armed could be somewhat concerning.
