... is worth the hell of having to buy it at a Michael's Arts and Crafts.

Last weekend, on another site, someone posted about how the Michaels was running a 50% off sale (online coupon) for most of their merchandise through this past week. One coupon per customer per day.

So, figuring I might be able to get some good deals I went to the two by me. And taking advantage of the "one per day" (which is really one coupon per customer per day per store ... if you pay cash and have multiple stores near you, as I do) nature of the coupon I'm now the proud owner of 4x Monogram 1/72 SR-71 kits (ok, realize that I DO have the old Dave Klaus/Cutting edge decal sheet), 1x Revell 1/72 EF-111A kit and 1x Revell 1/48 A-10 kit ... which altogether came to a grand total of $58 over the course of the week.

HOWEVER, the downside was actually having to go to those Michaels' to buy the kits. Sheesh - each time I came home I felt like I needed to pour myself a nice stiff drink to decompress from not only being the only guy in the place, but also having to cool my heels in the checkout line behind women who are WAY too nitpicky about their trinkets.

You could have paid more than that for one Tasca Sherman Jumbo in 1/35 at a local hobby shop. The last one I saw was $79USD....

So, yeah, it was probably worth it.

Plus, you now have a perfectly reasonable excuse to drink an adult beverage or two...Win! Win!
