Rod Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 Can the ERA blocks explode from the fire/cook-off? Syrian Army T-55AMV on fire: Shot at 2012-08-29
bojan Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 To add explosive in ERA will melt and burn but will not detonate.
X-Files Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I swear this guy looks like one of the Technical operators in Libya
Sardaukar Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Just like Libyans, they seem incredible innovative...
IronsightSniper Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Toyota armies are never not fun to see.
Chris Werb Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 What is the top automatic cannon and what is the purpose of the hose running from near the muzzle down the mount?
eurico_viegas Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 What is the top automatic cannon and what is the purpose of the hose running from near the muzzle down the mount? IMO, looks like a single Shilka gun. If so, the hose should be for the water-cooled barrel.

rmgill Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 I like the use of bicycle hardware for an elevation brake for holding things steady on the second gun.
X-Files Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Been done before by the Rhodesians w/ Brownings on armored Land Rovers IIRC, had tactile problems tho.. Just like Libyans, they seem incredible innovative... Edited September 7, 2012 by X-Files

crazyinsane105 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Good thing that seemed to be a HEAT round and not an ant-personnel fragmentation round of any kind. If it were, that reporter wouldn't have survived.
Jim Warford Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Syrian Army T-62s and a T-55AMV captured by FSA forces:
Rod Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Nice upgrade for the T-55 in terms of range finder and other EO attachments, Which version is this?
Rod Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 Syrian helicopter explodes mid-air Seems that either its bomb load (barrel bombs of TNT) or ammo being transported detonated. Could fuel tanks rupturing do that? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtr7Ol-30wo
Simon Tan Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) Not fuel tanks. That was a most unpleasant end. Understand that the takfiri are fighting Bashar and the Iranians today. Who will they fight tomorrow? Syria is far more pivotal than Libya. What price Syria? The downstream in Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, Jordan and Israel is very significant but to manage it requires prescience and clarity. The black flag of the takfiri is as common as the royalist Syrian flag. That is called a clue. Edited October 17, 2012 by Simon Tan
crazyinsane105 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Why is the Syrian Air Force resorting to barrels filled with TNT? Have they run out of conventional munitions?
pikachu Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Why is the Syrian Air Force resorting to barrels filled with TNT? Have they run out of conventional munitions? They're using cargo choppers as delivery platforms for better accuracy. Not too many conventional munitions designed for cargo choppers. Assad can always just level the cities with arty barrage and a few big bombs but he seems to be holding back because he thinks he can win this.
