Dark_Falcon
An M60T and 3 TAF ACVs (one with the 25mm-gunned 'Sniper' turret) are seen after repair from Daesh inflicted battle damage:
Dark_Falcon
Two photos from the SAA's 3rd Division: The first photo is the more common one, depicting a T-72M1 fitted with the TURMS-T FCS: The second photo is of two soldiers cleaning a less-common and far less often seen BRM-1:
Dark_Falcon
Sunni rebel factions allied with The Terrorists Formerly Known As al-Nusra have launched a major attack in Hama province, and one of the tanks taking part in that attack is lone T-90 captured from the SAA, now in the hand of the Former al-Nusra who are currently going the name "Tahrir Al-Sham": It may have a gunner's sight now, but its Shtora-1 system has not been repaired. alejandro_
I checked but could not find any other photos of this T-90 in this battle. If others appear, I'll be sure to post them. I have compared this vehicle to the 2 other captured T-90s (April and July 2016) but the damage in the Shtora projector does not match. Maybe it is another one? As far as I know the FSA has only lost 1 T-90 to capture.

Dark_Falcon
That T-90 will have the honor to be the first T-90 destroyed in combat. I thought the first T-90 destroyed in combat was lost in the Chechen Wars. Is that incorrect?

Dark_Falcon
The fight in and around Damascus this year has seen the deployment of a T-72 (It's been labeled as a AV model and that fits its turret shape) with slanted sheets of armor added on: One of the prototypes was a T-72 tank with a sloped armour. This tank was immediately thrown into battle to test the prototype out. It participated in clashes in the Eastern Ghouta region near Damascus on February 27, 2017. It was struck by a Meits-M ATGM. As a result the tank was put out of service and its driver suffered medium injures. The tank turret was damaged. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A23bgPrX8NU The tank showed up again in the Qabun section of the Damascus metro area earlier this week, having apparently been repaired: Now there is a frontal view of this tank showing some Kontakt-1 blocks in place but also showing spaced plating over the glacis and that the tank has now been fitted with the Viper-72 thermal gunner's sight, giving it a major boost in urban fighting capability: Anyone have any thoughts on this armor outfit? GARGEAN
Anyone have any thoughts on this armor outfit?Well, this is pretty easy: waste of time and resources. This is not slat armor, so it can't destroy HEAT warheads cone. It's not thick enough, apparently made from tool grade steel and have very little spacing to provide any meaningful armor increase. At best it just slows tank due to additional weight. At worst in prevents hull K1 blocks to work properly. It MIGHT help at some extremely rare occasions like with old rounds like PG-7V hitting turret side at some angle, where penetration is at the limit. In some major cases, like with Metys-M-grade ATGM hitting front... It's nothing but dead weight.

Roman Alymov
Partly lacking ERA on turret and... Dam... Sandbags. As for me it is not sandbags (sandbag of that size is too heavy to handle), and shapes of this things are too “light”. Turret traverse seems to be blocked by bags. I think it is some kind of pillows - very useful for camping\shisha piping ouddoors.

Can't see how "pillows" lying on turret roof might block turret traverse and how they can help in camping.

Still doesn't explain ones on the roof.
KV7
Syria has the capability to do some decent armor upgrade projects. It would be worth setting up a dedicated factory IMO.

Bags distribution on this tank are matching typical “seats” for riding on the tank: left side of hull (priority seat - close to driver, to communicate with him and show the road), right side of the turret (second priority, as person sitting there is not in voice contact with driver)

For camping, taken out from tank to some shady place or put around camp fire.
