Yet again Israel has seized another ship sailing to Egypt attempting to smuggle weapons ultimately destined to Gaza. This time the cargo was found to include 2 Chinese missiles C-802 that could have been used to target Israeli shipping.

And people wonder why Israel has an embargo around Gaza....

This is outrageous! The Zionists are stealing ghoods donated by the IROI to the Palestinian people. I demand that they be returned immediately. Prepare the mortars! Delivery to Khan Younis, no signature required.

More info and there were 6 anti-ship missiles. 6!!! There are many countries that don't even have one such missile and here you have Hamas about to receive 6 of them.

"Among the other weapons discovered on the ship were two rocket launchers, 230 mortar rockets with a range of up to ten kilometers, 2,260 smaller mortar rockets with a range of up to 2.5 kilometers, and 74,889 bullets for a Kalashnikov rifle. "

From the pictures the 230 mortars would be 120mm. Those are nasty. Good job Israel.

They get cows through the tunnels so a AShM should not be a problem

How the fuck do you get a AShM down and through a smuggling tunnel???

C-802 dimensions;

Weight 715 kg

Length 6.392 m

Diameter 36 cm

Cows are self propelled...

The missile model is C-704.

The missiles came complete with launchers and other base equipment - plug and fire.

I believe there was also a small size shore radar station, apparently British made.

Well that's interesting. I was simply expecting the usual RPG-7s and 122 mm rockets, but anti-ship missiles? You do have to wonder if Hamas actually does have any from other shipments that may not have been intercepted.

The answer is yes. They received Kornet ATGMs, one of which recently hit a Merkava that penetrated the armor but failed to detonate. After this incident, the IDF is deploying Merkavas with the Trophy Active Defense System.

Not meaning to be a smartass, but how does a HEAT warhead penetrate a tank's armor without detonating??

The Trophy already tested by a Palestinian ATGM in Gaza. Worked perfectly. The crew didn't have the time to understand what was going on - and the ATGM was destroyed in flight... Didn't you already hear about this?

Really? This is news to me. Do you know what kind of ATGM was? In the constant evolution of anti-tank weapons vs. tanks, the Trophy swings the balance heavily to the tank side as long as it works as advertised. Do you know where I can find more info on this? In Hebrew is Ok. :)

DADI....enough with the Zionist Propaganda. If the Kornet will not work, a BBIED* will.

 Let's get the facts straight buddy. It wasn't a Palestinian ATGM that was shot down, it was a Palestinian made RPG-7 round. RPGs and ATGMs, they are a bit different from each other.

Assuming of course that the Trophy is capable of standing up against saturation attacks, which at this point I am not at all convinced. In a full blown conflict such as Lebanon 2006, there will be dozens of ATGMs fired from different directions at the tanks to overwhelm the system.

I wonder if tanks would then travel in formation to create a screen all around them, sort of the way the B-17 Flying Fortresses flew in formation to create a zone where German fighters were being shot from numerous directions simultaneously.
