Juan Sosa Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I have barely played in 2013, but here is my signature stat thingie: My eft rating has been going up gradually over the last few months as has my win rate (wins rating is too new to me to know), but the idiotic player base got the best of me and now I am taking a break playing War Thunder. Looking forward to getting some days of no commitments to get back into it.
Harold Jones Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 How is War Thunder? It strikes me as being very grindy, but I haven't tried it yet.
Edmund Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Pico!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wr1s0W1bPw Better than Ola IMO That is not possible. Ola is an angel. Works for me. Reminds me of the chick out of t.a.t.u. Stuart Are you picking new girl over Ola? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBrmdRGih_4 Maybe this video will help.
RIPper Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 One quite unknown awesome tank is Pz38 - great firepower (accurate, good damage and pen) and quite mobile. you can rape low tiers with it.
Marek Tucan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) My new low: M12 GMC. 10 battles, 10 defeats. I cannot hit anything and teams either fail to spot or fail to stop scouts. EDIT: make it 11/11. Sigh... Edited January 22, 2013 by Tuccy

sunday Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 How is War Thunder? It strikes me as being very grindy, but I haven't tried it yet. An advantage is that players are better than in WoT - You have to being able to land to play effectively (ammo resupply, repair, and conquer airfields). Landing it's not easy so it separates the men from the kids. The damage model seems better, and there are no hitpoints to reduce to achieve a kill. Supports TrackIR (and Face Track No IR), and HOTAS joysticks. Maps are quite large.
Marek Tucan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 13/13. Leaving arty for today. Steppes, Encounter, only 1 tank covering the flag... Plus usual bad luck in not managing to hit a thing...

Since I'm not a huge WW2 airplane buff the issues in WoT were too much for me in WoWp so never could get into it. Isn't War Thunder planning on introducing tanks? No hps coupled with a more complicated system sound awesome.
Fritz Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 They would do well to concentrate on quality gameplay instead of constantly pumping out a bazillion "different" tanks. WoT has far too many tanks and has advanced its gameplay far too little for two years.
RIPper Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Just finished a long string of platoon games in Pz38 - almost all wins. At the end we got bored so we did stuff you just don't do:rush on the west side of campinovka at 30secspush through alley of death in himmelsdorfstanding in cap circle as soon as possible in enskWe still won those games...

Victory!Battle: Cliff Tuesday, January 22, 2013 9:21:49 PMVehicle: AMX 13 90Experience received: 3,950 (x2 for the first victory each day)Credits received: 51,553Battle Achievements: Mastery Badge: "Ace Tanker" Kills were a T95, T69, GwPanther and Obj 212, almost solo'ed a Jagtiger but someone got saucy and left the cover they had been behind for 5 minutes to steal the kill from his front <grr> ... I also put a few rounds into one of FCO's ANVIL buddies in an E-50M (Jedit) .. To be fair, he was pinned down and doing pretty well, I was hull down where he couldn't get me...he did position his tank perfectly so I only got 3 pen out of 10 rounds fired.. Colin Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Tier VIII game in my Comet, literally my team is wiped out in the first 3 minutes leaving me alone with 4 nastier tanks. You know you have to work hard to die that fast.
snotman Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) Anybody get their Treads for Threads activation code in their email today? Haven't gotten mine yet in my inbox or spam. I heard J!nx website is overwhelmed and intermittent. * edited for spelling Edited January 23, 2013 by snotman
Harold Jones Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Got mine, didn't have any problems with Jinx a few minutes ago.
Stefan Fredriksson Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Never got a tier X again, won't get a t-shirt. Honestly don't miss it either. For the first time since start, I am not actually reaching for anything, except small stuff like perfecting crews. Kind of good just to play to stat-pad.

Edmund Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Finally got Comet and sold Cromwell. Upgraded tracks and working to get the Turret for 77mm. Almost half way there. Armour is weak. Trying to keep moving. I got the KV-4 and sold KV-3. Converted crew to KV-4. I have the KV-1, KV-2 and T-150 still. I liked them better then KV-3 so I kept them. The KV-1 with the short 122mm can be fun. I can't believe how much xp is needed to upgrade the KV-4. 15K for tracks? +20K for something else (Maybe turret). The top gun is like 44k. Not sure about engine or radio. That is more xp then I needed to get the tank. Seems extreme. The stock KV-4 is ok but can be frustrating because the guns are weak (1st 107mm), slow (122mm) and miss a lot. Questions. For Churchill VII and KV-4 does it help to angle tank when facing enemy? Have been trying that, but not sure it helps. On camponovka when the cap is in middle of West side; Is it best to go down or up the East side or go over to the West? Teams seem obsessed with the East side. I work on the West side. Wondering what you guys thought.
bojan Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Angled KV-4 can be a monster due the thick sides, especially if you manage to hide lower front hull.
Mistral Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 First battle of the day we win 14 to -1 (yes minus one) second one we loose 15-2 and i got the two kills...Both with the tiger. Balancing needs work:)

I am keeping the Cromwell for no good reason other than it's fast - KV-4 is not winning me over either, it's like a mobile pillbox, prefer the IS. I prefer the West side, go all the way to the border of the map to get good bearings on the church.
