you guys have any opinions about all the WoT forum rage about 105mm HEAT? Over-powered -- not over-powered?

The performance is amazing (I play it in M4 and it's a death star). The main issue I see is that you can be profitable with it - gold ammo should earn less than the damage it causes.

WN5 is slightly less able to be abused, and is the current "best" method of evaluating performance. In our forum we had a rather, erm, robust discussion, and the problem is that no matter how you slice it, the formula is able to be abused, mainly because you can't normalise things for platoons, tiers, kill shot damage, premium round usage, etc. through the data feed. If we could normalize the stats we could then work on a formula to objectively assess player performance. Since it won't happen because Wargaming refuses to release detailed metrics for players and battles, we're stuck trying to use flawed data to try to objectively assess players. Having said that, if a player has poor efficiency, more than likely us here would roll them even with an underpowered tank.

I've come to the conclusion that at the end of the day the only stat that matters is win %. All other stats might explain how you achieved your win % but they are only secondary.

There isn't much debate. It's extremely overpowered. The fact they haven't done anything to address it is perplexing (maybe this is the only way SerB can win at the game).

Never platooned. Way too many low tier games on a standard account.

Guess I should be happy. I'm not. Missed out on 2 dailies today because the dipshits were out in force.

Ooc, how come it doesn't show any hx like it does for the rest of you?

Btw, getting real tired of mouthbreathers defending their bad play with "it's just a game" or something along those lines.

No shit.

I get on to have fun. When idiots do stupid things and die early, leaving the rest of us outgunned and in a bad spot, that ruins my fun. People have a hard time realizing there's 14 other people on their team. If you go afk, if you run out ahead of everyone and die, if you sit in the back and don't fight, etc. you're making it that much harder on the other 14 players. They shouldn't have to suffer so you can enjoy your bizarre idea of fun. If you want to be stupid go load up a single-player game.

If you just looked up your stats for the first time, the site will start tracking you from now on and over time the averages will come up. Right now you can only see the current stats.

I just got 2 losses and then 3 wins in the M4. First two were T7 games where I could not make a difference at all (when half the tanks are T7 it's real hard not to ever get hit when your gun is super inaccurate and aims forever), next 3 were T5 games where I dominated easily. Last one was hilarous as there was a second gold derp M4 and we were one-shooting everything in turns.

My stats have been pretty static for a year:

I'm guessing I could move the win percetage up if I focused on tanks that I'm good with.

That second acct is a good show why the original eff. rating is being supplanted, it's too easy to skew.

If I go a bit off-topic for a second. I need help updating/reinstalling WoT 8.3 on to my Windows XP desktop. WoT keep hanging itself while "Updating game client applying updates (1%)." It happened I first tried updating it and hanged up there. When that didn't work, I went downloaded the complete game and reinstalled it and got to "Updating game client applying updates (1%) and it too froze up there..

Problem taken care of

Switched commanders between T28 and Hellcat, so I now have 6th sense on Hellcat. Less use on T28 since it still cant move. ^_^

Yes, this tank can be quite effective. :D

Killed a Hellcat in another battle, then killed a Jackson. The Jackson was stuck, and the Hellcat was trying to push him free.

The Hellcat-driver thought my kill was, I quote: "shameful". And he was, as far as I can tell, serious, since he persisted, and vowed that he would never do the same to me. Actually makes it kind of cute.

I love the Hellcat -- I think it's one of the best looking tanks in game. But I struggle with it in terms of win percentile. I tried the heavier turret and shoehorned the 90mm into it as well. The combo worked well for me on one or two maps types where I could snip from a distance -- but I hated the slower rate of fire of the 90mm. After a few games with the 90mm and heavier armored turret, I felt like it was just too sluggish in traverse rate and the vehicle just didn't seem as peppy. Maybe both these things are just my imagination, but I switched back to the lighter turret and higher ROF 76mm.

What do you guys think of the T-44?

I've been farting around with the T-43 for a couple weeks now and am sort of ambivalent about it. I only drag it out now to get daily doubles or triples. I was also somewhat ambivalent about both the T34/76 and T34/85. Sold both rather than "Elite" them. I'm wondering if it's worth spending much more time on this line, particularly when there so many other shiny Tanks and TD lines to pursue.

If you like the medium style of gameplay, using mobility to both survive and deal damage, the T-44 is the best tier 8 medium in the game.

I loved both the T-43 and T-34-85 but they've been altered since I played them so I can't comment on how good they are now. If you're not eliting out tanks and getting one solid crew with secondary skills it could be a bit painful to grab the T-44. If you have the cash, though, try it out. You'll obviously have to get it fully upgraded to see its true potential. If you do, and mediums are your thing, it's worth it.

I have a reload time about 8,5 seconds now on the 90 mm.

As far as I can tell, turrets have the same traverse speed. But - the tank itself turns twice as fast as the turret, so that has been the solution for me.

I agree that for instance on Himmelsdorf, the tank is... "hard to play" when up against tier 8s. But on most maps it works great for me.

Hang back, snipe, and when time comes, either rush through to arty, or rush here and there and pick off stragglers. Most often a mix.

I seem to have stabilized win-rate on about 58 or 59% for it.

EDIT: recent example of hanging back.

Tier 8 battle, I finished 2nd on the xp-list. Fired 17 rounds, I was spotted 1 time, and that was when enemy had two tanks left, of which I killed one.

I agree with Stefan, the 90 is the way to go. It is slow but the aim time is decent so you back down into cover (you do fight from hull downs right?) or reposition during reload and pop out and shoot fairly quickly. The Hellcat is not something you want to sit up and snipe in counting on your cammo or armor to keep you safe. Use your speed to get into a good position and let the tanks move in and light up targets for you, keep an eye on the minimap and be ready to move to support places that are in trouble or where a late game opportunity opens up.
