JamesR Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 My stats have been pretty static for a year: I'm guessing I could move the win percetage up if I focused on tanks that I'm good with.
sunday Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Almost noobest one: Anoter account from a acquitance:
Fritz Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) That second acct is a good show why the original eff. rating is being supplanted, it's too easy to skew. Edited January 22, 2013 by Fritz
Rubberanvil Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) If I go a bit off-topic for a second. I need help updating/reinstalling WoT 8.3 on to my Windows XP desktop. WoT keep hanging itself while "Updating game client applying updates (1%)." It happened I first tried updating it and hanged up there. When that didn't work, I went downloaded the complete game and reinstalled it and got to "Updating game client applying updates (1%) and it too froze up there.. Problem taken care of Edited January 22, 2013 by Rubberanvil

jwduquette1 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I love the Hellcat -- I think it's one of the best looking tanks in game. But I struggle with it in terms of win percentile. I tried the heavier turret and shoehorned the 90mm into it as well. The combo worked well for me on one or two maps types where I could snip from a distance -- but I hated the slower rate of fire of the 90mm. After a few games with the 90mm and heavier armored turret, I felt like it was just too sluggish in traverse rate and the vehicle just didn't seem as peppy. Maybe both these things are just my imagination, but I switched back to the lighter turret and higher ROF 76mm.
jwduquette1 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 What do you guys think of the T-44? I've been farting around with the T-43 for a couple weeks now and am sort of ambivalent about it. I only drag it out now to get daily doubles or triples. I was also somewhat ambivalent about both the T34/76 and T34/85. Sold both rather than "Elite" them. I'm wondering if it's worth spending much more time on this line, particularly when there so many other shiny Tanks and TD lines to pursue.

I loved both the T-43 and T-34-85 but they've been altered since I played them so I can't comment on how good they are now. If you're not eliting out tanks and getting one solid crew with secondary skills it could be a bit painful to grab the T-44. If you have the cash, though, try it out. You'll obviously have to get it fully upgraded to see its true potential. If you do, and mediums are your thing, it's worth it. Edited January 22, 2013 by Skywalkre
Harold Jones Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I agree with Stefan, the 90 is the way to go. It is slow but the aim time is decent so you back down into cover (you do fight from hull downs right?) or reposition during reload and pop out and shoot fairly quickly. The Hellcat is not something you want to sit up and snipe in counting on your cammo or armor to keep you safe. Use your speed to get into a good position and let the tanks move in and light up targets for you, keep an eye on the minimap and be ready to move to support places that are in trouble or where a late game opportunity opens up.
Juan Sosa Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I have barely played in 2013, but here is my signature stat thingie: My eft rating has been going up gradually over the last few months as has my win rate (wins rating is too new to me to know), but the idiotic player base got the best of me and now I am taking a break playing War Thunder. Looking forward to getting some days of no commitments to get back into it.
Harold Jones Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 How is War Thunder? It strikes me as being very grindy, but I haven't tried it yet.
Edmund Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Pico!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wr1s0W1bPw Better than Ola IMO That is not possible. Ola is an angel. Works for me. Reminds me of the chick out of t.a.t.u. Stuart Are you picking new girl over Ola? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBrmdRGih_4 Maybe this video will help.
RIPper Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 One quite unknown awesome tank is Pz38 - great firepower (accurate, good damage and pen) and quite mobile. you can rape low tiers with it.
Marek Tucan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) My new low: M12 GMC. 10 battles, 10 defeats. I cannot hit anything and teams either fail to spot or fail to stop scouts. EDIT: make it 11/11. Sigh... Edited January 22, 2013 by Tuccy

sunday Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 How is War Thunder? It strikes me as being very grindy, but I haven't tried it yet. An advantage is that players are better than in WoT - You have to being able to land to play effectively (ammo resupply, repair, and conquer airfields). Landing it's not easy so it separates the men from the kids. The damage model seems better, and there are no hitpoints to reduce to achieve a kill. Supports TrackIR (and Face Track No IR), and HOTAS joysticks. Maps are quite large.
Marek Tucan Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 13/13. Leaving arty for today. Steppes, Encounter, only 1 tank covering the flag... Plus usual bad luck in not managing to hit a thing...

Since I'm not a huge WW2 airplane buff the issues in WoT were too much for me in WoWp so never could get into it. Isn't War Thunder planning on introducing tanks? No hps coupled with a more complicated system sound awesome.
Fritz Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 They would do well to concentrate on quality gameplay instead of constantly pumping out a bazillion "different" tanks. WoT has far too many tanks and has advanced its gameplay far too little for two years.
