Every... single... time... I ask players to report an AFK player I get people who want to make excuses. "Oh, maybe something came up." "Maybe he's having computer problems."

No, dipshits. It's 20-fucking-13. There are not that many people out there with computer, internet, or life emergencies to justify AFK players in every game. These people need to be reported so WG can continue to pretend they're doing something about it.

Mouthbreathers everywhere. :glare:

Just saw a game that showed how not to play a medium.

Port with 4 players left per side. Enemy starts capping with 2 before our team does the same. We have an E-50 in the middle of the map with enough time to get to cap to reset. In fact, he's the only one that can. What does he do? He hangs around with a Löwe to finish off an Obj 704. By the time they both finish that job, the enemy has capped.

Massive fail.

Clan Wars goes down in North America starting tomorrow night. Our Clan Overlords can neither confirm or deny why, but I'm no dummy.

I'm just puzzled why my house isn't a landing zone. <_<

Is Chieftain going to be in the game?

I wish it were so, but it doesn't seem like it so far. There is no planned intention to do so that staff are letting on, and according to chieftain WG haven't made a 3D model of it.

Random thought, anyone think the prototype chieftain would make a good T9 med if WG were to make a chieftain line (terrible armour other than upper glacis & turret, 120mm L1)? Production one at TX, of course. Give it a later engine to make up for the greater armour weight - there's got to be something WG can use to make up the rest of the line

Kudos to a pubbie by the name of yukosteel. Had Campinovka as the north team and he charges across in his T-44 and moves to that beach area to the SW of the enemy base. Keeps moving up and spotting enemies and our 'campers' are able to pick off several. I lead the way across to support him and we end up rolling the enemy.

Aggressive play and knowing what needs to be done in the tank he's playing. Gotta love it.

I just spent maybe an hour writing thoughts on winning in WoT on my own boards - which pretty much boiled down to the same thing. You really summarized it very well. That's how you win. Know what to do in your tank to win and do not be afraid to do it.

The trick of course is to figure out the most winning thing to do on the map you're given with the teams you're given. But the most important step is to know that that is something that can and must be figured out as opposed to just rolling with the flow.

I was just skimming the WoT forums and stumbled accross this:

So I was browsing my stats today noticed I had a 68% win rate on my tiger....... I try to use the high DPM on the tiger to wear down enemies, and never peek-a-boo with them. Something I like to try is to stick my frontal armor from cover at a high angle when the enemy is in the open. The tiger is unlikely to bounce, although the angle sometimes helps. However, sometimes a tiger is just too juicy of a target for some people to resist, so they stop and shoot when they really should keep moving. My own dpm, and my teammates can do a lot of damage when this happens. The Tiger's high hitpoints helps this as well.

Talk about thinking out of the box (see tank - shoot tank - hide - rinse repeat).

This is what I'm still struggling with. There are some map and tank combinations that just leave me throwing my hands up in the air. Simply supporting the mouthbreathers does little.

On a different note I've been playing the Pershing again. I'm still working at recovering from the awful evening the other night and the Pershing is the only progression medium in my garage. W/R was in the low 40s when I picked her up again and now it's at 56%. Can't say I like her but I do prefer her (a medium) to a heavy like my T34. If that thing didn't print money it'd be out of my garage in a heartbeat.

As for the Pershing, I'll still be shelving her when the Chinese arrive. Now, though, I'm tempted to go back to her down the road and keep working towards the M48.

My account is suspended. Grew tired of having players taking potshots at my premium Russian light tanks and retaliated. The second time, unfortunately, there was a platoon of two idiots and had to kill both.

Ticket submitted. We'll see. If no response, I just rediscovered modded Homeworld 2, and also War Thunder is a pretty good MMO flight simulator, so perhaps I shall sell the account and deinstall.

Heh... one of the most iconic and feared tanks of WW2 being used as a lure because everyone knows how easy it is to pen. Gotta love it. :glare:

I still think they should drop it to tier 6 with this upcoming rebalance. I'm curious how crazy they're going to get or if they'll just be adjusting stats and leaving the trees as is.

We're having a discussion on our clan forum about Serene Coast getting pulled, and I opined that perhaps a map that needs to be made is simply a square of gently rolling hills with little to no bushes or trees. No true arty cover--but a lot of spots to get hull down or move about disguised by the terrain. Simply put, a map with lots of places to run to--but nowhere to hide. A guy told me I was crazy because TDs and slow heavies would be super vulnerable on that map, and this was my response:

[M]aps already totally don't marginalize entire classes of tanks by their mere existence? The one piece of the trident of a tank's usefulness (Armour-Firepower-Mobility) that is not exercised much in the game is mobility. In addition, imagination in attacks and defence are taken away by the fact that maps are designed to be maps to be gamed upon, and not realistic layouts of land where the strategic and tactical movement is not already thought out for you by the map creator. Don't believe me? Look at how the maps are actually laid out. Roadblocks, indestructible buildings, and impassable terrain funnel us into predetermined fighting areas. All we get to choose is which killing field we get to camp at.

I'd love to see a wide-open map if for no other reason than to watch the mouthbreathers flop around trying to figure out what to do because SerB and Co. didn't think about how to fight for them beforehand. I'd be willing to bet a map like that would more closely correlate average win rate / XVM / WN3 rating of the teams opposing each other with which side wins on that map than any other.

Not on sale, but as a main prize in the contest. Try to get as good XP as possible on a Chinese tank (no acc crew training on ;)) and if you get to be THE BEST before Feb 10, you win a 59; 2nd best: 62 etc.

On Type 59, I know of someone that is thinking about selling his account.

Anyone wants to buy a quite engorged Euro account with about 40 vehicles? (Batchat 25, E50M, Patton III, T110E5, IS4, IS7, T92, JgPz E100, Type 59, Löwe, T34, M4A2E4 (beta collectible), Tetrarch, Valentine, T-127, Pz. 38(h)...) E100 and Maus researched but not bought.

Umm... why would that matter?

How is a T-50-2 allowed to be top tier?

"If you sell or buy accounts, you not only risk losing your account, but also being visited by SerBs very special forces."

Not sure how WG keeps tracks on who uses which account, and if they really do punish people, but suggestion is that anyone buying that account perhaps should not advertise it out loud.

It's Don't Ask; Don't Tell. Let's just say... I have experience in the matter. In addition, big clans often have shared accounts that multiple people have access to. It's not against the rules, but it's frowned upon. Some clan set up a casual division, hoover up old accounts of old elite players, and dump them in that clan, making an excellent LZ-clearing force. Wouldn't know anyone who does that, but watching them whine about "Illegal" accounts when we, er, those guys, wipe the floor with alleged "big" class is is a bit of a laugh too.

I don't know how you all can stand these low tier games. I've been playing for an hour and I'm ready to throw my keyboard out the window. These people are awful at this game.

Here's the most recent example:

Highway. I'm on the Stuart (I fucked up and spent some free xp I shouldn't have so I couldn't start at the T-34). NE team. Tier 5 is high tier and we have mostly heavies.

I shoot to the NW and myself and another Stuart light up something like 7 enemy. It's a mix of lights, TDs, and tier 5 meds. I immediately let my team know that we're 'fucked' up north because all we have up there is myself, that other Stuart, and another light back at base. All the heavies went town. Do any turn around at this point? No.

I shoot back to base and take up position in cover. Fire several shots at an enemy T-34 leading the way. They all bounce. I can see 4-5 of the enemy halfway across the top of the map on their way to base. Again, I plead for help. No one comes.

Finally they start capping. I fire again at range and miss. Start to maneuver around and FINALLY I see a tier 5 med and 1 heavy start moving to our base. It's too late. They cap easily.

I inform the rest of my team (that blob of heavies was now at the bottom of the town and turning towards their base) to just delete the game and do us all a favor. Some didn't take kindly to that. That's ok, I didn't take kindly to them wasting that game and my time by being completely brain dead.

I scouted. I called for help. I tried to delay. Not much else I could do in that situation in a shitty tier 4.

Honestly, not really. I played with the derp Pz IV for about 2 weeks and then the novelty wore off.

Also, the Stuart isn't a tank that lends itself to harvesting anything but incoming damage.

Have only been playing WoT for a couple months now -- but Big +1 to the above.

The few maps currently available get way overplayed. Many players seem to have very carved in stone and repetitive tactics for each map. Himmelsdorf comes to mind-- "who's going up the hill" and "the hill is the key" are the inevitable comments at the start of each Himmelsdorf session. While I get the importance of the Hill in the STANDARD battle where each side has their own base -- it dominates that half of the map. However, I don't get the hill's tactical importance in the ENCOUNTER version of Himmelsdorf in which the single base is located way the hack on the other side of the map. There is no direct LOS from the hill to the base. No flank domination in this instance. But i digress...

I'm still having a lot of fun with the game, but can see it getting stale for me based solely upon playing upon the same terrain over-and-over. Having done a fair bit of "level" construction for a number of games of somewhat similar ilk, I know the huge amount of work that goes into creating Maps (or "levels" -- whatever you want to call them). But given the popularity of the game and the size of, and resources that are now available to WG, I'd think dedicated "level" designers would be part of the key design staff.

What sort of frequency does WG turn over new maps? I've seen tons of AFVs added to the game in only the short amount of time Ive been playing, but nothing in the way of new maps or even hints of new maps.

He makes an interesting point, that most of the nerfs will have the biggest impact when T-50-2's get within spitting distance. Bugger, I don't want to see more fast movers than can shrug off hits by shells bigger than they are.

And high tiers are any better in this regard?
