What a difference from the basic Luchs! But I still have problems when facing BT-7, Leopard and the fastest Pzkw III. Slowly working my way up to the Leopard. I am also starting to get the hang of Hetzer. Camouflage certainly helps. Main weakness is lack of gun traverse. But looking forward to get Stug III instead. And watching what kind of impact the T-44 has on the battlefield, I consider going that way also. Perhaps instead of trying to get the Panther. Question: How do I replace the small repair package with the big one, when I allready have the small one on the tank, but also have the big package in storage? I tried to sell the small one i Depot to free one spot, but it was "reserved" on the vehicle, and I wasn't able sell it. What I am trying to do is to move the big package from vehicle to vehicle, depending on what vehicle I use that particular day.

Target is in T-44 with a stabilizer. Only 90 000 exp to go...Ill be playing with T-43 (and T-34 elite) few weeks. No problem. Its a balanced beast.

AnD I was alive at the end
Doug Kibbey Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Did anyone know a "draw" is a possible outcome? It is, happened to me today in a "base race" for capture. Actually lists outcome as "draw".

It really ruins those few games when you're down to 2-3 guys per side tip-toeing around like sneaky Pete trying to see how the other guys' base is covered, and from where. Those slow mutual attrition games are when I've had the most fun (assuming I'm one of the late survivors).

First I managed to get enemy IS-4 from 100% to 7% with my KV-3 before he killed me and my FOUR team members (Tiger, VK3601, 2 x Pz-IV )failed to kill him... He killed them all in the way it was painfull to watch... Then city map, me in KV-3 and some moron in T-43 vs SU-100 and T-34/85. I spot SU-100 fire at it, kill it. Then hit from rear. WTF? My teammate used aut-oaim obviously and fired on SU-100. Just that he forgot that auto-aim does not compensate for me being between him and target... Killed my engine and one track. Meanwhile T-34/85 starts capturing our base so he goes back. And gets killed by T-34/85... He was on 100% for Christ sake and that T-34/85 was at 20%... Meanwhile I am sloooowly getting back to base (KV-3 with damaged engine and tracks is the definition of SLOOOOOOW) and just as I arrive and get him in sight game ends...On the other hand got 5 kills in SU-85 eith me being 2nd worst vehicle in game...

It's side armor is utter crap however. Problem with Hetzer (at least when I played it) was that it was almost always stuffed in battle with IS-3/4/Tigers/Panthers/high end VKxxxx which hopelessly outclassed it... Few times I got decent tiers match I could do something - one game I have even got "Invader" title by single handedly capturing enemy base and 3 vehicle kills. My advice is to train gunner with gold, you depend on him. Edited October 21, 2010 by bojan

Matt Urbanski Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I started playing with a T-46 lately (got it to Elite status, and use it to transfer XP) and man, is that an insane little tank. Fast, very quick turret, and the L10 gun with the huge HE shell just slaughters every other light tank you might get matched up with, and gives you a serious chance of hurting anything you will ever see in a battle. I love it, and frequently get 500+ XP per battle with it.

What was the "default" and what's the name? I gather it has a screenshot folder somewhere, but I can't access it because I can't find where it installed the program.

I think the default is something like C:\Games\WorldofTanks, but I'm at work right now and can't make sure.
Phalanx Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The game is down because they're releasing the two new maps today. One Normandy themed map, and another 'Eastern European' map. Client is up and running, but it requires an update that apparently hasn't been released yet.

I have mine now with full suspension, top rated motor and long 20mm, so even if you can’t stop much, you can sure scoot.
zakk Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I have problems updating. First the update went ok until about 70% complete, then critical error. After that, no success... However, in addition to the two new maps, the US tanks are coming soon. Shermans against Tigers in Normandie sounds like a lot of late, late nights... Also, the Japanese tanks sounds fun. I cant wait to get my hands on a Type 94 Te-Ke tankette.

zakk Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) Updated, and tried the new Polish map once. To little experience to say anything about it. Haven't been routed to the Normandie map yet. But starting to feel that I prefer city maps a lot more than open areas. Also, the auto aim option has to go. Kill it. Strangle it. F*ck it. Its not necessary, skill, experience, tactics and luck should decide a battle, not auto aim. Or there should be maps without auto aim as default, and the players being able to chose them. Running around with top upgraded BT-2, top Luchs and top (if that is possible...) Hetzer. BT-2 and Luchs are fun, starting to hate to give them away for BT-7 and Leopard.
