Mobius
Disney bought Fox today for $71 billion in cash and stock. So Superman will meet Guardians of the Galaxy. And you wonder who bought who with the Murdocs getting all that Disney stock.

Stargrunt6
Saw "Dallas Buyers Club." Great acting, plot and visuals. But it's woefully irresponsible in it's depictions of healthcare. The movie bashes on placebo-controlled randomized clinical trials. Bad Hollywood, bad.

Stuart Galbraith
It's no Hunt for Red October... Thinking about this... we get quite a lot of sub movies as a % of all military-related films. I wonder why that is? You know, this is pretty much the submarine bits of 'Cardinal of the Kremlin'. They even have a Marko Ramius in it.

Stuart Galbraith
Sherlock Holmes mum. Worth also seeing for Anouska Hempel, who crewed the teams minisub wearing what appeared to be little more than an old Fishing Net.
Panzermann
Sherlock Holmes mum. Worth also seeing for Anouska Hempel, who crewed the teams minisub wearing what appeared to be little more than an old Fishing Net. In the swinging sixties you could film these things. In the prudish present not. UFO. I as well thought of the original UFO series. Or an adaption of the X-COM games. Why is this filmed in the USA (I wold not be surprised if actually filmed in Canada) nad not the UK with that cast? And where is the Doctor? And U.N.I.T. whne the UK needs them? Stuart Galbraith
The original X Com game was reportedly based on the TV series. They were originally going to feature a subsurface feature, which in the end they did a spin off in 'terror of the deep'. Which was strangely fun, chasing 'The shape of water' style aliens among sunken shipwrecks and airplanes armed with a harpoon rocket gun. Happy days. We must not have, an Anouska Hempel gap! I was just being a sleaze and also drawing attention to the benefits of Anouska Hempel who was also awfully good value. In a distinctly less sleazy tone, there is a new movie about Bomber Command out. Cue stiff upper lip, suppressed emotion and definately no gay volleball. toysoldier
You know, after Tom Hardy's performance in "Dunkirk", the emotional-masked-pilot scenes look so cheap to me, that's how high they set the standard.
Stuart Galbraith
Yeah, they did it on a budget (I gather its crowdfunded), though they did use a real lancaster for many of the external scenes at East Kirkby. I guess we shall have to see. Im not expecting it to better Appointment in London or a Digitally Remastered Dambusters. But we can hope.
