Ssnake Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 The most bizarre trash is still being made in Japan - in this case, I could literally feel how the was killing my brain cells.
Archie Pellagio Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I saw Clash of the Titans yesterday. Very disappointed. Bad script and bad direction couldn't be saved by decent actors. Saw it last week. The biggest heap of shit since the late Cretaceous period...
ShotMagnet Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Saw The Men Who Stare At Goats last week. A lot funnier than I expected, recommended for those of you who liked The Big Lebowski. Shot
Ssnake Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 ...but not quite as funny as the trailer suggests that it is. It is an "okay" movie in my book. Probably won't buy the DVD, except maybe once that it is in the bargain bin.
Guest aevans Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hard not to step back into 1984: Teenage Wolverines vs. the Godless commies Time travelling assasin robots Some dude named Freddy from out of a nightmare Slime time in Manhattan (and who knew the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man had such a bad attitude?) Some chick named Molly got sixteen candles Barrance, arr of rife barrance Wofie writes some music and dies Crime fighting in Beverly Hills Indie vs. the Thugs Gizmo and his offspring ruin Christmas
Doug Kibbey Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 The most bizarre trash is still being made in Japan - in this case, I could literally feel how the was killing my brain cells. I was kinda' hooked, definitely rooting for the squid. Does Tomas know about this? I mean, there's the potential for tentacle groupies...all the elements are there.
Corinthian Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 biggest heap of shit Is it bigger than a shitload of shit? Or smaller? (are you a fan of that unit of measurement already? hehehe) Doug: Yep, already saw it. First thing in mind: what ever happened to tentacle sex?!?!?
Hittite Under The Bridge Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hard not to step back into 1984: Some chick named Molly got sixteen candles Guilty pleasure....I love that movie.
Jussi Saari Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Watched Hot Fuzz again last weekend... still hilarious. Yesterday evening there was a Spanish movie, translated King of the Hill (don't know original title). Reminiscent of Deliverance, but happens in the mountains somewhere in Spain, not excessively gory but one of the more disturbing movies I've seen recently. Probably quite cheap budget, but the outcome works.
Ssnake Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) Does Tomas know about this? I mean, there's the potential for tentacle groupies...all the elements are there.Well, there is a "love scene" between that girl and the calmar (not hentai style though, you pervs), and the culminating fight involves the hero, the octopified wrestler of the first fight (like the hero, he was transmogrified in a mountain hideout in Pakistan, go figure...) and yet some other seafood (I'm not sure what, seemed to be a crustacean). Shintoism or not, this was trash. But at least they didn't attempt to hide it. Edited April 13, 2010 by Ssnake
Colin Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Saw Shutter Island this weekend, not bad, but scenes of drowned kids are a tad to close for me.
Ivanhoe Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Guilty pleasure....I love that movie. Wasn't the movie, it was Molly Ringwald. Brown-eyed redhead, rather full lips, fair skin...
Guest aevans Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Wasn't the movie, it was Molly Ringwald. Brown-eyed redhead, rather full lips, fair skin... That's what it is...most redheads have green or blue eyes.
pluto77189 Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Took my 5 year old to see "how to train our Dragon " in 3d. Excellent movie. The use of 3D was not overt and in your face. I can't recall any of the "coming right at you!" scenes. It was used for immersion. Worked wonderfully. My daughter loved it, too. The animation, despite the cartoonishness of some of the designs, was superb. The end scene was especially impressive, with high speed 3d dragon flying through 3d clouds. I really really liked it.
Corinthian Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Well, there is a "love scene" between that girl and the calmar (not hentai style though, you pervs) DAMN! And I was hoping it would involve Mei Haruka in it....
Tommy Bennett Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 Finally saw Tae Guk GI. Much gratuitous violence and mayhem! The story was pretty hackneyed, however. Overall I did enjoy the experience, but rest assured, the battles are more WW1 than post-WW2.
Jim Martin Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I watched Inglourious Basterds last week, and didn't really know what to make of it right off the bat; waking up the next morning, I realized what I'd watched was in essence a tribute to the old war comics. "Sgt Rock and his Howling Commandos kill Hitler and the whole German High Command!"
Tommy Bennett Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 While on stand-by last week in the crew rooms, I saw From Paris With Love & Old Dogs. I've been a Travolta fan since Vinnie Barbarino, but these two films sucked hairy moose - um - privates. On the horizon, however, are Robin Hood, Iron Man 2 & Predators.

Reminds me of that awful POS movie "Anacondas." Looking forward for IM2 and RH.
Dave Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I stepped into the 1990's yesterday and watched Pulp Fiction. Harvey Keitel stole the show. Pulp Fiction is great IMO!! Love that movie and I watch it everytime I get the chance!
Dave Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Watched Blind Side tonight. Really enjoyed it! A real "feel good" movie! Sandra Bulloch is great and very hot in this She can spank me anytime Tim McGraw sure looks alot like his Dad..... Tug!
Stargrunt6 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Finally saw Tae Guk GI. Much gratuitous violence and mayhem! The story was pretty hackneyed, however. Overall I did enjoy the experience, but rest assured, the battles are more WW1 than post-WW2. Much of the plot-driving devices seemed to be video game oriented. "Take the hill!" "Capture the officer!" It was also very melodramatic. Oh, and gory as all hell indeed. Kick-Ass was utterly flawless. And shame on anyone who hasn't watched "Elite Squad" yet.
Nailcreek Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Shutter Island - really screws with your head. Thought it was a great movie. Definitely would rent it to see it again to figure out how it ties together. Remember Me - Chick Flick. Kick Ass - Gory, funny and not sure what to make of it. Great gun pron. Book of Eli - Thought it was a cool movie with a great twist at the end.

ShotMagnet Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Saw Avatar this week. Absolutely gorgeous CGI and -A. Absolutely execrable plot. Cameron should either be knighted or shot. So disgusted, I'm writing my own story. Tony Evans, PM me. We need to talk. Shot
