Saw Inception today, probably the best movie I saw this year, so far.

Funny, I went to it with no clue what it is about at all.

I'm still uncertain how much I liked it, but I really am glad I saw it. I want to see it again to fully make up my mind. That said, I haven't seen a movie in years that has prompted as much discussion with me and my family and friends.

Saw the Lovely Bones, and it was bad.

I quit watching after 30 minutes. Another movie I couldn't discern "why" they made it.

Went to see Salt. That was one of the most idiotic plot lines I've seen in years. Ant the Russian dialogues were written so horribly I cringed every time. And a skeletal Jolie wasn't good enough looking to save it. Don't recommend...

Yet another reason to seal the southern border.

Falken's link is kaput. Went and found a live one. Looks Cloverfield-ish (and that's not a *bad* thing).

It's like the most chick-flickish thriller there ever was. Especially with the lame-ass way the killer died.

Saw inception last night: F*cking awesome!

Just grabs hold and doesn't let go.

After seeing the previews of the city folding up and stuff I thought it would be some stupid, egregious wank of a movie but I couldn't have been more wrong.

The only thing that was disappointing was the "twist" at the end being the predictable one

the better end would've been perhaps a straight 'reality' ending, it seemed to be heavily inspired by shutter island too.

Highly recommended.

Saw Predators last week, wasn't as craptastic as I was expecting, but don't expect too much from it.

A bit disappointing that the Xenomorphs weren't one of the beasties dropped in the game reserve though. :(

Opposite for me. It was the previews that piqued my interest in the film.

The most amazing part about the movie, which has so much going on simultaneously in what are effect parallel and simultaneously juxtaposed realities is that it isn't a complete train-wreck (hehe) of a mess.

That alone is something worth commending.

That is it so good to boot is even more so.

I agree, whether one likes the film or not it is a piece of brilliant and clever film-making. juggling all that without it crashing into a disaster is extremely impressive. And between this and Shutter Island, I am thinkind DiCaprrio might be one of the subtlest and finest actors we've got working today.

Exactly, about 20 min or so into the movie I was thinking "wow, what are the chances the extremely convoluted story he's entangling actually doesn't completely fall apart by the end". Extremely impressive (esp. given the current state of filmmaking...).

Anyone found anything besides a few stills of Battle: Los Angeles? Apparently it made quite an impact at Comic Con but there's basically nothing on the web about it.

When the previews first aired, to me Inception look like Dark City with a much bigger budget.

I cannot stand Michelle Rodriguez, she plays the same fucking role in every movie she acts in and she manages to be MORE annoying about it in each subsequent film!

I feel the same but she does talk about this in the first link about the movie. Basically she says they always give her the same role and she can't do much about it.

She could just quit accepting the roles and go find work with the TV producers, indie movie makers, or stage theater to to get of the typecast hellhole she is in.

Can they get that many CH-46's in the air at one time?

They can't.

I would describe it as Bourne meets Matrix, done by Dark Knight crew with a bit of Dark City thrown in.

Sorry, I should've elaborated more. Interested mostly in seeing the trailer they showed at Comic Con for Battle: Los Angeles. I had read accounts of what folks thought after seeing it (such as the BHD meets Aliens bit, which immediately piqued my curiosity) but was surprised to see nothing more than that 3s bit linked too already. Just seems that if they have a trailer, or even just raw footage of the film, that got such great accolades at the convention that they'd put it out on the web.
