Hittite Under The Bridge Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 Jimmy Page does what he really does best...nice acoustic with the Zep. Bron-Yr-Aur I really liked Physical Graffitti- besides "Bron-Yr-Aur" I liked "Boogie With Stu," and one of my top ten all time favorites- "Trampled Underfoot." Boogie With Stuhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ditBIHem-E Trampled Underfoot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCyXcL-XMOw...feature=related
Doug Kibbey Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) Check out his MySpace page and check out "Come On In My Kitchen" or "Last Fair Deal Gone down." http://www.myspace.com/zakkknight He has potential, but again, needs to slow down, this ain't speedmetal. His "standard" there is "Terraplane Blues" one of the most suggestive and greasy sexual-innuendo-laden songs in the history of blues (robert johnson, to boot). Needs to slow down and work the action, just like you'd work the girl in the audience who's attention you're trying to get. Needs to refer to both Johnson and John Paul Hammond's version (Hammonds is not easily found anymore, but I have on vinyl. I think Rory Block may have a version on Youtube). Women instinctively understand this song, which is who it was written for anyway. Edited March 1, 2010 by Doug Kibbey
Hittite Under The Bridge Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 He has potential, but again, needs to slow down, this ain't speedmetal. Well, he claims to be mainly influenced by SRV- that could explain it.
Rocky Davis Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I heard yesterday on the radio that two new albums containing never-before-released tracks are about to hit the market in the next month - one by Johnny Cash (done shortly before his death) and another by Jimi Hendrix.
Sardaukar Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Flying to Finland for funeral of my grandmother tomorrow. Thus playing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BLqqif_UjI
Dame Karmen Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this song and voice, this particular person performing it, that I just heard at the end of a movie. I had to google to find out who performed it .......... I'm sorry to say it's a very bad youtube recording I found but I wanted to post about it. I love everything about it, IF ONLY I can hear him doing this song without all the movie in the background Jay McSchann singing Once Upon A Time. What a wonderful unique voice! although in spots I was sure it sounded like Willy Nelson when singing jazzy tunes. I'm going to have to see what other Jay McSchann singing I can find online to hear more. Edited March 7, 2010 by VenerableDamePW

John_Ford Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 (edited) I tried to play some Chambers Brothers for mine, he listened politely and I think contained his distaste so as not to get that whole "rebellion" thing working. Clearly he was not impressed.Thankfully, I was also a Gordon Lightfoot fan and that passed muster with both parents. Way back. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=aLaPtQ...feature=related For your review. Edited March 7, 2010 by John_Ford

Doug Kibbey Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) Les McCann and Eddie Harris at the Montreux Jazz Festival, 1969. Kicks ass and takes NO prisoners. Guaranteed to offend something in everybody, but such was the time. One commenter noted that "this song might never not be relevant", and I can see that.... Edited March 13, 2010 by Doug Kibbey

Doug Kibbey Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Watching (and recording) "Bad Company"- Hard Rock Live at Hollywood, FL on HD-Paladium. Damned if Paul Rogers can't still sing. Not your typical burnout band performance, these guys have kept their edge.
Hittite Under The Bridge Posted March 24, 2010 Author Posted March 24, 2010 If there ever was a song that could choke me up, it's this one: Precious Memories- Bill Monroe. Reminds me of my parents. http://popup.lala.com/popup/432627065031252302
