Check out his MySpace page and check out "Come On In My Kitchen" or "Last Fair Deal Gone down."

He has potential, but again, needs to slow down, this ain't speedmetal. His "standard" there is "Terraplane Blues" one of the most suggestive and greasy sexual-innuendo-laden songs in the history of blues (robert johnson, to boot). Needs to slow down and work the action, just like you'd work the girl in the audience who's attention you're trying to get. ;)

Needs to refer to both Johnson and John Paul Hammond's version (Hammonds is not easily found anymore, but I have on vinyl. I think Rory Block may have a version on Youtube). Women instinctively understand this song, which is who it was written for anyway.

I heard yesterday on the radio that two new albums containing never-before-released tracks are about to hit the market in the next month - one by Johnny Cash (done shortly before his death) and another by Jimi Hendrix.

I am ABSOLUTELY in love with this song and voice, this particular person performing it, that I just heard at the end of a movie. I had to google to find out who performed it .......... I'm sorry to say it's a very bad youtube recording I found but I wanted to post about it. I love everything about it, IF ONLY I can hear him doing this song without all the movie in the background :(

Jay McSchann singing Once Upon A Time. What a wonderful unique voice! although in spots I was sure it sounded like Willy Nelson when singing jazzy tunes. I'm going to have to see what other Jay McSchann singing I can find online to hear more.

I tried to play some Chambers Brothers for mine, he listened politely and I think contained his distaste so as not to get that whole "rebellion" thing working. Clearly he was not impressed.

Thankfully, I was also a Gordon Lightfoot fan and that passed muster with both parents.

Way back.

Les McCann and Eddie Harris at the Montreux Jazz Festival, 1969. Kicks ass and takes NO prisoners. Guaranteed to offend something in everybody, but such was the time.

One commenter noted that "this song might never not be relevant", and I can see that....

Should be, its how the Angels in Heaven sing to Honour the Virgin Mary, Mother of God.

EDITED to add: Not understanding the language is a given: Its a thousand year old Serbian Orthodox church lingo.

Pssssssssst ... I REALLY liked that Les McCann and Eddie Harris one ;)

Here's something I liked and found interesting. Violins are so much fun and I couldn't believe the shape of the violin in this video. The guitar playing made me want my hands back in shape ARGH! Oh well. Great to still be able to listen. BTW these guys are nominated for a Juno 2010. I haven't heard them before but will listen to more of their "stuff". I like violin, all kinds of sounds.

Glad somebody was paying attention.

"Sultans of String" thing was nice. Flashed on Jean-luc Ponty.

I was :) I actually do have a listen to a lot of things posted in this thread. I'm usually not into really rocky or over the top, or nasty angry stuff though, but even listen to some of them right through. It's all good!

Am sure you enjoy this one too then :)

Bondo- F%^$ You, I'm Drunk

The Dropkick Murphys- Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced.

Watching (and recording) "Bad Company"- Hard Rock Live at Hollywood, FL on HD-Paladium. Damned if Paul Rogers can't still sing. Not your typical burnout band performance, these guys have kept their edge.
