Guest Hans Engström Posted December 3, 2001 Posted December 3, 2001 Jim, I'll messenger you as soon as I get set up Tuesday (your contact info is in the Staff forum after all). You choose the scenario and your country and I'll whup you. Which patch are you running? Hans

Jim Martin Posted December 3, 2001 Posted December 3, 2001 Hans, Grand Campaign, or something smaller? I like England. BTW, MSN Messenger has totally shit the bed since they "upgraded" it...you should probably download AOL messenger, I'm finding it the most reliable.
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 4, 2001 Posted December 4, 2001 we'll go with the GC, I'll try for Spain, I'll see if one more person might not joun us. Will download AOL this afternoon (my time). Hans
Guest Murph Posted December 4, 2001 Posted December 4, 2001 Doesn't work for stability. Slider still moves to 0 each month. Originally posted by Ivan Rajevic:Double-clicking on the slider locks/unlocks it.
Jim Martin Posted December 4, 2001 Posted December 4, 2001 Hans, I received your instant message on AOL today...sorry, you messaged me while I was getting gussied-up for an interview, I didn't see the message til you were offline already. I've added your handle to my "buddy list" though.
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 4, 2001 Posted December 4, 2001 Jim, excellent, I'll go online ca 1830 ZULU tomorrow and see what EU has to say about multiplayer. See you on the field of battle. BTW, I have heard rumours that multi-player is intensely crashprone. Also BTW, are you running on patch 1.09 or 1.10? Hans
Jim Martin Posted December 4, 2001 Posted December 4, 2001 Hans, I just upgraded from V1.07 (!!!) to 1.10. North American patch, will it conflict with yours? Any significant changes from .07 to .10?
Rickard N Posted December 5, 2001 Author Posted December 5, 2001 Murph, Do you have a stability rating of 3 already? If that is the case, you can't get any better and the slider drops to 0. cheers /Rickard
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 Yes, in v1.10 England starts with rebellions in all provinces and 58k Irish Army besieging Anglia No, seriously I think from 1.07 up it's just stability enhancement. See you this evening, (my time). Hans
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 Jim, I'm sorry, I'm going to have to cancel tonight For some reason, my computer has crashed completely (blue screened) whenver I try to run the upgrade to 1.10 (we have to have the same version to run multi-player). There seems to be something screwy due to us having the virus ealrier this week. Cleaning up removed something so the install won't work. I'll have to reinstall windows. Again, I'm terribly sorry. Hans
Jim Martin Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 Hans, c'est la guerre....good luck with that update, and let me know how it goes.
Jim Martin Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 BTW, Dad just yesterday purchased EU II. VEERRRRRYYYY sexy. I may have to spring for it myself.
Guest Murph Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 Cool, thanks. I am going to trade in a couple of games and get EU II. I want to play the Byzantine Empire, and retake the Middle East from the Turks and Mamelukes. Dammit! I hate it when I get hooked on a game this bad. Originally posted by Rickard N:Murph, Do you have a stability rating of 3 already? If that is the case, you can't get any better and the slider drops to 0. cheers /Rickard
Jim Martin Posted December 5, 2001 Posted December 5, 2001 Well, Dad's having big problems with EUII. Seems that when Richard III died, they didn't award him the successor, and his monarch display is still showing Richard III in 1534...His diplomacy's gone to Hell, he can't form alliances with countries with which he's got a +200 relationship...looks like something for a patch. Anyone else buy EUII and know about this problem? Anyone know if another patch is on the way?
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 6, 2001 Posted December 6, 2001 ...and it's still crashing, I'm about to give up and go directly to EUII. Jim, consensus is that it shipped early in the states (not quite out here yet) for X-mas. Patches are continuing as the bug reports come in. The one your dad got stuck with is particularly wxaperating and many have complained. I expect a fix shortly. Hans
Rickard N Posted December 7, 2001 Author Posted December 7, 2001 Hans, EUII has been in shops for at least one or two weeks...check out http://www.softwareexpress.se ...At least I think so, haven't really been looking for it. /Rickard
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 7, 2001 Posted December 7, 2001 Rickard, didn't check the link (lack of time, lack of time) but I think they are selling the US version. Hans
Guest Murph Posted December 8, 2001 Posted December 8, 2001 So far EU II seems much more stable on my system. I've d/led the 1st patch, and will do the second. The cheat codes from EU 1 work in EU II. I like the missionary idea. I can't wait to convert everyone to Orthodox. The Byzantine Empire rides again!
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 Check out the bug reporting forum at http://www.europa-universalis.com It will ease your mind over some things that can happen. My favourite bug is the "Knights of Malta Shipbuilding Spree" An event for the spanish can lead to the the creation of 200 000 warships. This tends to lead to a slight degree of inflation, since the AI tries to keep them Also, Jim's dads problem is under consideration and should be fixed by 1.03 at the latest. Hans
Rickard N Posted December 13, 2001 Author Posted December 13, 2001 Any after action reports from EUII??? One little question: Have anyone else experienced that EU (1) is slow to quit, and the computer is slow a while afterwards aswell. My computer takes 3-5 minutes to shut down after a game of EU, compared to 12 seconds in the normal case... weird! /Rickard
Stefan Fredriksson Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 I think I saw EUII at Spelia (Valhallavägen 36) yesterday when I was trading in a few old games. Also, I seem to remember latest (or next to latest) Swedish PC-Gamer has a review of it. [Edited by Stefan Fredriksson (13 Dec 2001).]
Guest Murph Posted December 15, 2001 Posted December 15, 2001 EU II, not bad, needs desperately for patch 1.02 to come out. But the Byzantine Empire has just invaded Texas and Mexico.
Guest Murph Posted December 22, 2001 Posted December 22, 2001 Ok, you EU Ilks out there, what do you think of EU II? I like it, much more stable. Just as addictive.
Guest Hans Engström Posted December 22, 2001 Posted December 22, 2001 Still waiting for it to become available here in a functioning version Hans
