I used to be a hard core CounterStrike player for about a year. Ever hear of the DLTR (Die Like The Rest!) Clan?

 

All the cheating I was seeing and the crap lagicide kills really pissed me off to the point where I wiped it from my hardrive in disgust. It was fun for a while, but got annoying. I don't know if things have improved any since I left. That was over a year ago. Now all I play is Steel Beasts. There is no other game

I decided to go back and try out cheater strike again, I got pissed off and left about a year ago because of the heats, and I came back, and it was worse, nobody was hitting eachother, just leaping around in the air not getting hit...

 

Hopefully Global Ops will be as cheat proof as possible...

Damn guys! Hmmm, I used to play the cheaters just so I could have fun. I mean get the good ones one out of every two or three times they killed you and taunt them. "Wow man, you suck mighty bad even with cheats!" Of course I was accused of cheating allllllll the time, cause all I ever did was AWP or Scout the crap out of everyone. Don't get me wrong, I'd use a colt or the pump shotty also, but no one can cheat with those and get away with it, I mean they're CQ weaps, and you will get put down eventually. People literally hated me, claimed I had a lame ass aimbot (not true, cheating takes all the challenge out o' the game). Really you just learn the maps so well and know the snipe spots so good that you can't get whacked except by wall hackers. Even then it's not hard to see where they'll be coming from. I didn't stop playing for any other reason than I am simply swamped with work and my new fiancee takes precedence. I still love the game, but life is more important. Too bad also, my clan was ranked top ten in the OGL when I had to bail.

Cheat Detection

For those worried about cheaters, Gearbox will be working with Valve on the issue of stopping cheats. Valve has made combatting cheating a priority and have full time personnel on the job to stop it. Condition Zero will ship with a cheat detection/prevention tool, from Valve.

 

Vapor ware most likely, but if I can ever get stuff done, I'd sure like to try those new weaps out.

They've got something called cheating death or something and alot of the bigger servers require it now. You have that and your pretty much garunteed to not have any cheaters in the server. It's a free download too. Just start the program and run counterstrike and do what you usually do.

 

Wanna know an evil secret (that I would never do )?

Useing an AWP you might get into a close combat situation. Tapeing a small peice of paper (like the size of a pinhead) with a tiny peice of tape (so you don't hurt your monitor or leave any residue adhesive) onto your monitor where your crosshairs are located, and presto, you have a crosshair even for your sniper weapon. *evil grin*

 

I use decoy tags all the time and some people consider them cheats. I don't. If I'm stupid enough to get suckered with a decoy tag, I deserve to die in the game.

I wish I had the dexterity to be a sniper in CS. I played with a trackman and aiming with my thumb was not an issue at long ranges. I switched to the Aug and was very accurate at close and mid ranges though. I found the trick was to use the Aug as a semi-auto and walk the rounds up into the guys face. Usually took three shots to get a head shot that way using the recoil from the last shot to jump the next shot up.

 

I used to love reading guys bitch about 'camping' tactics when guys would snipe or hang back to protect your team's flanks. Funny, I thought it was about good tactics

Camping is usually just babies who get whacked whining, but spawn camping is often grounds to kick you.

If you camp near the spawn area as well, you'll often get kicked as I learnt in my early days

Guys, just find a server where they play and play mean, I loved learning allllll the dirty tricks. It's the best way to be the best player. There will be servers that do let you ambush, I mean damn, if like on dust, you're guaring the hallway and the enemy has an AWP sighted down the hall, well you should be making the assault if you're a T or guarding you're a CT, it's that simple. No reason to make the time run out and make everyone else fall asleep. I always hated campers also, so I try not to be one no matter how much I sniped. I also hate people that play for stats, I just play to win, don't care if I die, long as the team wins. Too bad my clan went to crap in a bucket. They were good for a couple years, but now I don't even miss em.
