yak_v Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Took a grand total of 2700 photos there. Lighting sucked so some of the photos are not very good, but I decided to post them anyway as I tried to catalog every model at the show and got to probably 98% of them.http://svsm.org/gallery/nats2009 Vladimir

Corinthian Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Even more links. Proving once again that IPMS-USA Nats is EASILY the most extensively photo-documented modeling event out there: So true. I wish the same was true over here, but alas, the guys I know over here don't bother to update the club's website to show hi-res pix of the nationals here. And they accuse me of "taking charge" and "wanting to have my way" when ever I suggest that the club's photogs and webmasters upload the pix to the website. Thanks for the links and pix.
Corinthian Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 BTW, I love the Best Diorama, the Abe Lincoln sculpture. My eyes are getting tired of seeing military "action" dioramas. The Abe Lincoln one is just so peaceful and pleasing to the eyes, I could pro'ly spend more than an hour looking at all the little details and admiring everything without getting tired looking at it. Beautiful work, simply beautiful.
ShotMagnet Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Best Aircraft Lancaster. Small pictures clearly do not do it justice:Please tell me that the burned-out Ju-88 scored at-least Silver. My opinion is not law, but in my opinion that was the best of the lot. Maybe it won in the diorama competition? Shot

Maybe it won in the diorama competition?Shot That is Steve Hustad's work. He is a member of the Aero-Historians in MN, a IPMS semi-sister club to my MMFS club. His work is ALWAYS astounding, and he is a great guy as well.
