X-Files Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 The 7 foot model of the Nostromo ship featured in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic, Alien, has been the focus of a restoration project by The Prop Store of London. Suffering decades of damage from poor conditions of improper outdoor storage, the piece has required extensive cosmetic restoration as part of its ongoing preservation. ShotMagnet Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Don't be too sure about that. Animators still need a physical referent; you will find models for spacecraft that regardless end up as CGI so as to get the details right. Shot

Still: Watching my Incredibles special features DVD, the animators referred to solid models of the characters when necessary. Shot
