Seriously hard to aim these things, and even electical power cables can be a hazard..

The two flashes on the power lines at 1:00 or so...were those the guidance wires shorting out on the power lines?

If I remember right a poster here claimed that was one of the more elite rebel groups in Syria.

1) Darwinism in action

2) This is America's fault - the result of developing tactics based on Rambo movies :D

3) Allah is really great, see how this guy was taken out of the gene pool.

4) All that is missing is the equivalent of: watch this!

So the question remains - did that shooting style develop here in the good ol USA by gang bangers and spread to there, or did the style just develop independently in each place? That is the kind of shit wanna be thugs pull here.

Shoting with gun canted sideways was called "Macedonian style" in Serbia and "Albanian style" in Montenegro.

Yes, but why do other countries field more modern ATGMs then if it is so simple? http://208.84.116.223/forums/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/tongue.gif Also, the PLA does have newer types of ATGM in service - for instance the Red Arrow 8 - so why not mount these on the new vehicles?

In the case of the USA, I've seen the case for better/smarter/more-expensive munitions couched in terms of logistic cost for an expeditionary force. It's better to spend more on a smarter missile more likely to hit its target, and transport fewer of them halfway around the globe to the theater.

I'm not sure if I believe it, but if we assume the argument is valid, then we could argue that a non-expeditionary force might as well load up on massive numbers of cheaper munitions. Perhaps the plan is to deploy those more expensive missiles for contingencies where nontrivial force projection is required?

The USA primarily procures equipment IOT subsidize business; the margins are highest on the most complicated stuff....

Which makes it prohibitively expensive to use them to blow the Hell out of filthy savages hiding in caves, even if that's all you need them to do. S/F....Ken M

It has to be the "best" equipment, even if it's not the best choice for the mission.

OTOH, if munitions are approaching the end of their shelf-life, what better way to dispose of them?

Launcher and guidance have to be at certain angle so guidance picks missile.
