Jacques Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 Merry X-mas and Happy new years guys. I will be "away from my computer" until the 3rd...while I can read messages, I will not be able to post, well, not easily anyhow! So I thought I would throw this out now. And Santa brought me the new 1/700 Kirov from Trumpeter.
EW Posted December 25, 2003 Posted December 25, 2003 I wish you and the rest of the TN community the same. FYI I've been building 4 days in a row now, but the big surprise is that I actually have enjoyed it. As for Santa, it's true that he only comes to well behaved kids and modellers But if I'm lucky I might get my hands on a Tamiya 1/48 Shidenkai "George" in a week or two. All the best from a very rainy Stockholm EW
Gennady I. Beregovoy Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 Merry Christmas to you guys as well. I have been totally irresponsible on the hobby - haven't done anything - even my sister's Porsche Boxster which I must give to her this coming 31st as a birthday present. Wishing you all the best!
Michael Eastes Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 I got the Academy 1/35 Honey with full interior. Hard to believe a tank that small has so many parts.
Jason Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Hey guys, it's a little belated, but Happy Holidays. I was activated by the National Guard last July/August for active duty, and it's been kind of hard to get internet access so I've been a bit of a stranger. I'm in DC now and my internet access should be a little more regular now so I'm hoping to be around a bit more often. Now if I only had some models and my tools/supplies....... Jacques, I got the Trumpeter and Dragon Kirov kit's with both fits. I'd rate them equally in terms of detail and molding, but Trumpeter definitely has the advantage price wise. I also got the Dragon 1/700 Arizona (Special Version) It is incredible to put it bluntly. Resin turrets, phot-etch set and individual brass main gun barrels make it well worth the $26.50 it is going for (and definitely worth my cost at discount - should have bought two).
Brad Sallows Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 I've sworn off new kits until I finish some of the ones I have. I "only" have a dozen or so, but that includes a Snowberry and the Tamiya Dragaon Wagon and FAMO+trailer (the latter two I won't even try until I improve my finishing skills). 9 Domestic has been very cooperative about buying toys on my gift wish lists. BTW, if anyone has assembled any of the three aforementioned kits, I'd appreciate any comments you might have about difficulties encountered during assembly.
Jacques Posted January 21, 2004 Author Posted January 21, 2004 Brad et all...I am going to delete this thread in a couple of days, you know, to help keep down the backlog... I will start a new thread for your question Brad. Good to hear you are alive Jason, just keep your head down in DC...they are animals there.
